  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Gene:

Check with your accountant, but I believe your deductions can be predicated on when you "put it in service" not necessarily exactly when you received or paid for it. Obviously it has to be within reason - but I would think that if you paid/received in October/November/December it would be reasonable to say it went in service for tax purposes in the following year.

I don't know how big his office is but can someone go in there with the widest lens possible on earth and capture it all?

If they aren't shooting bts on reds its such a missed opportunity. Im thinking shots of the company meeting on oct 11th, and bts of the mad scramble that occurs!

but yes more pix of the flowers would be fun

Matthew, you're up to date on this info it seems, so in your opinion or has it been mentioned if as a raven depositor without a camera would there be a benefit in me switching to scarlet-w before the 11th both for queue position or pricing or are they treating all people without a camera the same and strictly using timestamps for scarlet and raven people without cameras?

OK, thanks for the info - I wasn't sure but I thought the upgrade price to Epic-W was going to be +$20K PLUS the Scarlet-W price and I didn't want to make any assumptions that sounded too optimistic. If the total move to Epic-W is around $20K then it seems like a great deal. One consideration was that I wanted to stay with an s35 sensor which just make sense for what I shoot but now I also realize the Epic-W squeezes 8K into that size. I was thinking that a 6K sensor was plenty but I guess I won't complain about the extra 2K if the image is enhanced by it. Let

cant see it hurting. but may be over thinking it. they only just announced raven owner (camera in hand) possibility last night. I would think tomorrow (october 1st) would be teh day they start to release more info regarding paths

Right off the bat is a relative term, depending on orders we get for SCARLET-W people before you in line there. But, you have a very envious position nonetheless.

And, remember, like Jarred said way back, upgrade order volume may dictate that window closing. If we just rob Peter to pay Paul (i.e., move a clusterf*ck of a queue from SCARLET-W to EPIC-W), we have no choice but to close it before what we have, internally, decided is the end date. That is going to be fluid...

Is this drunken plan, that I'm not sure where to find, applicable across the board for other upgraders? I've also tried to get an idea what the deposit would look like, as the 11th is closing in and i'm not even sure i'll have enough for the deposit (depending what that is).

Drunken plan only for Scarlet-W costumers.
Sober plans for the rest.

Jagger, I am a clean slate kind of guy. At EOD yesterday, I was the flower fairy, leaving surprise bouquets to various folks around the office. Which, of course, is leading to people to call their significant others, only to find out it was not sent by them, ha.

And, of course, all the red roses went to the original redhead….

If your end game is EPIC-W and you are a RAVEN deposit holder…do nothing. Our decision to allow RAVEN a direct path to EPIC-W without switching to SCARLET-W allows that.

Yes, deposit holders for RAVEN and SCARLET-W keep their timestamps…

Exactly. So, to “amend” my reply above, if your end game is EPIC-W and you want the Peter-san plan, you better be in the SCARLET-W queue.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what it is. I was just saying it'd be awesome to see something similar for others upgrading as well since this really is, "the last call".
 
Which Mini Mags will work with Epic-W in 8k? This transition will require me to jump to mini-mags.
 
I am sure all mini mags will work, but get a 512, youll want the space
 
I am a current EPIC DRAGON owner (Mini-mag - 512s only), who wants the most time/cost effective path to EPIC-W Helium. Can someone give me a straight answer on how to get there please? Should I be depositing on a package pre-OCT 11? My rep said there would be no benefit to that. This is wildly confusing.

Is the amendment amending that raven depositors who want that Peter plan actually should switch in order to get it or still do nothing? haha wasn't sure what part you were amending
