I'm a new Scarlet owner and glad to be part of the community. Here is my problem, I have a third party hdmi monitor and it was working nicely with previous firmware ( I had to use forced hdmi presets since I don't own the Red lcd touch) , after the upgrade to 3.3.14 I still have a feed for my hdmi monitor but no menus at all.

Could anyone help me on how to blindly setup menus on hdmi feed through the side handle or to kindly upload a preset for this current firmware since the current preset Red uploaded in their download section doesn't work for me anymore. Any help is very appreciated.

Thanks.

Marcus

Try asking your Red representer.

I did find this on post #12 in the thread below.

Just an update on this:

Word from RED is that there is currently no way to enable menu's on HDMI or HD-SDI without having a RED LCD or EVF. I'm sure there will be a solution down the track but for now we are going to have to wait until our Touch LCD is delivered before we can get our baby rolling.

Perhaps you could hook up with a user in your local area and sort it out.

Best luck,

Hey Joel,

Thanks for your reply, meanwhile the red support contacted me and they sent an user preset to switch the menus onto the hdmi monitor. The ones currently in the download section work only until firmware 3.2.*
Problem solved.

Cheers

Hey Marcus glad to see you got that issue handled. I'm a new scarlet owner that will be using an hdmi monitor as well, is there anyway you can post a download link for this preset to this forum? If not what exactly do I ask for when calling Red support?

Yes sure here is the link:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7586563/unzip.rar

This preset will work with the firmware 3.3.14
If you upgrade to future firmwares you might need to request a new preset if this one doesn't work, hopefully red will include available menus as a default configuration for hdmi output.

the instructions:
Please unzip the attached folder, place the folder titled “presets” and the other folder entitled “force preset” onto your REDMAG. Put the REDMAG in the camera, boot, and you should get a picture with menus on your HDMI external monitor.
Cheers

Thanks so much for this Marcus.
Recently upgraded to 3.3.14 and ran into the no menu problem.

I agree, hopefully RED will include menus on all monitors outputs for future builds. Then users can turn off menus on monitors that they want to keep clean.

Thanks again.

I recently got my Scarlet but donʻt have the 5" touch LCD. I was hoping to just get started with my smallHD DP4. I downloaded the firmware that Marcus sent out, however, I am having a problem mounting my SSD on my laptop to place the firmware on. All my SSDʻs are brand new so have not been formatted. The problem is, I canʻt format them with the camera, since I do not have menu overlays on my screen. How would you advice i proceed with this? Thanks!
