  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

For SCARLET-W and RAVEN folks with deposits, if you switch up to EPIC-W, you will keep your deposit timestamp for your RAVEN/SCARLET-W order. Another way we want to make it up to the people who have been waiting a long time with no camera… You will need to order with your rep to keep your original timestamp in place.

For everyone else, will be based on the timestamp of your upgrade order itself.

Won’t dig into details, but assume folks who don’t have cameras (i.e., deposit holders for SCARLET-W and RAVEN) will have a speed pass. Until those guys are sorted, we won’t being the trade-in upgrades for SCARLET-W and RAVEN since you guys already have a camera in hand.

Fight? No battle to fight, my friend. Come Oct 11, there will be no WEAPON Mg’s being made new or upgrades. So, that is off the table as an option.

I know this is "Brent's Day" and all... he is awesome! So is the Red team! (Enjoy the flowers Brent!) But I do think our "Firechief" deserves some love too! After all, he consistently gives the middle finger to the rules and helps out all of the Red Users as much as possible! The dude is tremendous! I've been "associated" with a few camera companies in my career and none are as generous as Mr. Land. Therefore, I say... let's not leave Jarred out of the love! I sent a special "6-pack" his way today too! Sure it can't compete with what Brad and Angelina recently sent... but my little way of saying thanks and making sure he knows he's appreciated!

If I could... I'd send gifts to so many more too! Dudes like Travis, Sean, Nate, Kris, Dan, Graeme, Matt, Mike, Trent, Bied, Heather, Morgan, Ryan, Nabil, Christine, Stephen, and a whole HOST of others who help me so frequently! The Red Team just flat out rawks! I'm so proud to be a part of this! First as a user and now as a dealer! Rage on Red!

So does that mean the MG is still an option up until the 11th or is that already off the table?
 
Jarred - It's awesome to see all these Epic-W/Helium updates! Sounds like production is moving along nicely. Any word on recent batches of Dragon sensors? Are the yields looking good? It sounded like there was two areas of improvement. The first was moving people from Dragon to Helium, but the other was that Dragon sensor production is just overall improving as you go along. Is that the case? Thanks for the updates.
 
Question. My Dragon Epic is at the HQ for the upgrade to WeaponMG a few weeks ago. But I did not get back it yet.

My account tells me, that I dont have any elibigle brain to upgrade.

What should I do, if I have Oct 11 no camera?

Not being considered, it is a fact.

Come October, every single existing camera owner will have an upgrade path. RAVEN and SCARLET-W pre-Oct 11 deposit holders will have opportunity to switch to EPIC-W (or WEAPON HELIUM, if you are a SCARLET-W depositer).

Also, something else that is very important. I mentioned it like a gazillion post ago, but come Oct 11, you better have any camera in your possession officially in your name to be eligible. Now live in RED.com (here), is Register Your Camera.

If you purchased from a dealer, please make sure you do that registration so we have it on our records so you will be eligible for your associated upgrades paths come Oct 11.

If you purchased second-hand from another REDUSER, make sure you have done the transfer of ownership. Initiate here.

If you purchased direct from RED and still have your camera, you are all set.

somehow I missed this - it seemed there were some hints about 4K prores...

Can we shoot 4K prores (no r3d) at 60fps scaled from the full 8K sensor?

I've always shot r3D but curious if this is something I can utilize for certain clients.

Did not know this. Makes me wonder, what happen with the dragon oven is it shut closed, don't work any more or why no dragon cameras?

As a raven deposit holder, this may sound dumb, but does this mean we wont order online when epic-ws go live and instead just call our rep and I can keep my february timestamp and they'll be able to take care of it?

Quite the opposite... Making more Dragon sensors than ever, we just cant keep up hence all this insanity. Dragons will continue to live on in Raven, Scarlet-W, and Dragon Weapons.

Our line up started to get a bit confusing. I mean a lot confusing... so we are streamlining it a bit.

Pretty sure the Scarlet-Ws will remain Dragon, as well as Raven...but who the hell knows??? (Well, some REDTeam people know....)

This thread is truly epic. I just keep refreshing and it's getting better and better. Thanks for all the infos, the insane upgrade-plans and everything else. RED at its best. Loving it!

But, I have talked to some folks who have met/know him - both RED folks and non, and they have great things to say about him as a person and a shooter. i just got back from a tech scout, for a project that shoots the 11-13th, so that's going to be kind of crazy for me now to keep up with what happens, but i go on to reduser to clear my head as i usually do, and so taken a back by this new information and the kind words you put out there about me i literally had to jump up, go outside and smoke two cigs and then come back to respond.
i have one massive problem now, and its that i LOVE my raven. i just keep it basic for my own needs, shooting some b-roll on projects and occasionally have my guys build it fully out for steadi or car rigs. but now, 8k at 24fps and 4k prores, i mean that might be way too much to pass up! the saving grace is that you will be fulfilling all the people that have been waiting first and i can sit back and love my raven even more until my time comes up to upgrade. wow, just wow.
