my a7s mark ii has a built in ND filter you can switch on and off. I think they could get it in there pretty easily
We can dream right! Either way I cannnot wait till Oct. 11th! We are a little overdue for another tease from Jarred!

Is there any info out there on how much this thing will eat media wise? Thinking 24fps 8K with 4K prores its going to be hungry! Just trying to get an idea of how many cards we are going to need to budget for.

Kevin - how long do you want to shoot for without dumping? I think that will give you a better metric on how to figure out data consumption. I have 1 1TB mag, I'm probably going to pick up one more 1TB and a 512GB just to be safe for an all day shoot. I shoot prores + r3d.

I'm thinking if we could at least get an hour on one that would be alright.

I think prores 422HQ in 4k should last more than an hour on 512GB.

The max spec for 4k 422HQ is 110MB/s, around the same as an 8k r3d at 15:1 or 5k 6:1, all at 29.97fps

Looking at the image, I don't know if the Epic-W can record .r3d and ProRes at the same time. That might not be possible with the throughput of the camera. I think Weapon Helium might be able to do that. Just speculation on my part.

I thought the same thing when I noticed that. I'd put money on it.

Notice the blurred out red-mini mag? (You know, the ones that support 300MB/s) *wink*? I know, could mean nothing, lol.

I'd be shocked if EPIC-X can not handle 8K R3D + 2K ProRes at the same time.

Maybe only 4K ProRes without R3D - which is not such a big deal IMO - as 8K RAW for finishing in 4K along with 2K edit proxy will be more common than 8K RAW + 4K Proxy.
