  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I know the method you are using right now has issues because you can get big influxes of cameras somewhat unexpectedly. Depends who you are ( camera wise ) If you are a DSMC2 customer ( Scarlet-W, Weapon MG, Weapon Carbon ) and you are doing a Helium upgrade its going to be a much faster process because of the mechanicals.

That said, There always will be periods of insanity that things stack up.

But this launch will be very different than our past launches.

This time... We aren't fucking around.

Beggers can't be choosers. There will always be those of us who are unhappy or upset...that's with anything in this world. But at least RED is trying to make a difference.

Like Jarred has mentioned time and time again, no other camera company is like RED, and those that want to jump off this amazing train ride, go ahead, that just moves most of us up in line.

The annoucment that will commence on Oct 11 is, once again, going to flip the industry upside down...but we must remember, this annoucment is mainly for us - RED's current customers (even those of us/you still waiting for their cam to be delivered). One thing to always remember is that even though the annoucment will be huge, you don't have to upgrade if you don't want to. Whatever camera you have or are still waiting for is still better than any other camera on the market.

Oh and for those who haven't purchased a RED yet, this is the time to board the train, since this train is departing quickly, and it's only gonna cost you more to hop on later.

Question For Red Team or others:

If one lays down $1,000 for the deposit on the Scarlet W, how long until we have to come up with the other $19,000 if we plan to go Epic W?
Do we have to have it all within the month of October 2016?

Unlike the EPIC, where the cost was the CF material, the Mag vs. CF on Weapon is mostly the cost of the electronics and not the material. Or so has been said by Red on many occasions. If you have a Mag, I assume you keep the body and just get the innards swapped.

The EPIC-W looks like Mag or Aluminum. Don't really know. As far as Helium Weapon, no idea. In my case, it will just be a sensor swap sense I already have the CF Weapon. Maybe they have updated other boards, only Red knows.

I must be one of the few then, I would have purchased the REDVOLT XL Module had it not been included. I used the XL Module on the EPIC as well. Love the form factor and size. I dislike V-mount. I will be adding a WC A/B mount to also use with some lights.

I almost purchased the white XL module just to have one as I think it looks cool.
