  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hypothetically, if I ordered a Scarlet-W right now and switched to Epic-W for $20K total... and then sold my Epic Dragon for $15K, I would basically get a $5K upgrade to Epic-W?
I'm telling myself to not read this thread and tempt myself to buy another camera, but I just want to be aware of what I'll be missing out on, lol.

So, if I'm understanding this correctly - would it be inadvisable for a current Epic Dragon owner to place a deposit for a Mg upgrade in the near future, as it's unlikely they would be allocated before Oct. 11th? And therefore look towards the options coming on the 11th?
 
RED is cutting edge, not only in camera technology but also how they do business. These paths to upgrading are an unbelievable value added to kick ass cameras. You guys are lunatics and I love it! Keep showing the rest of the industry how you do it right :)

Let me put it to you this way, the WEAPON Mg upgrade deposit page on RED.com is going to be gone before you know it. So, yes, if you have not done the EPIC/SCARLET DRAGON to WEAPON Mg in the past year and a half, that ship sailed....

+1 The Scarlet-W is fucking amazing and has already changed my life. I'm incredibly thankful to have an opportunity to upgrade to Epic-W. I remember when the red one first came out a good friend of mine was one of the first people to get one, using his beast was so exciting at the time I remember daydreaming about getting my own one day. Not only did that happen but they are now the size of a Hasselblad !!!

soooo, what did you mean when you clearly said there IS a path for every SINGLE RED CAMERA OWNER on oct 11th??? that would be everyone that owns a red camera.
not everyone that is waiting for a camera. no?
having an undelivered raven is not considered being an owner.

im happy with my raven, just trying to understand.
ive been here matthew, just working and traveling and observing!

Please don't under estimate the number of Helium sensors you will need!
 
Are you sure today is not Oct 11th? Highest info given in a single day so far. Today feels like pre-launch to Oct 11th. Thanks Jarred & Brent

i think to clear this up, you meant to say raven ORDERS, not owners.
cause an owner is someone that has one in possession.

SCARLET-W, waiting for a camera, has a path. RAVEN, waiting for a camera, currently (key word) has a path to SCARLET-W. Hence, both groups have paths to take advantage of Oct 11 announcements....

People with paid deposits, yes.
 
Any confirmation of the Scarlet-W to Epic-W $20K deal deadline. At what point do Scarlet-W orders have to be placed before they can no longer switch to $20K Epic-W?
Or is this only for existing Scarlet-W orders?
