  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Orders aren't linear people! If 100 people order in September, 200 in October, but due to news and excitement 3000 in November are you seriously thinking they would ship out all those November orders in the same time frame they did the September orders?

I hope everyone here gets their cameras as quickly as possible. And I hope you guys make incredible images you can share with us as well. I know it sucks to wait but it will be worth the wait.

Maybe the 8K S35 was a test to push the limits of pixels on a Helium sensor and they are going to make larger pixel versions for Weapon and Scarlet... Hey, if the manufacturing process is somehow faster or more cost effective, it could make sense!

... A man can dream, right?

So, Jarred, if we aren't getting our S-Ws, can we at least come down to Irvine for cuddles with Brent?

Ha ha we just got a bunch of Scarlet-W sensors in.... so some of you may be able to cuddle cameras but I'm sure Brent will still take a hug :)

A bunch of S-W sensors in as in we should expect to get through the first few weeks of orders or a bunch as in only enough to get through the rest of the Dec 10 orders? Might be asking a bit much I'm just trying to gauge how sucky my January timestamp is :nonod:

If you get allocated, can you share time stamps please. that will give us a good idea of where we are.

The only reason I will not complain is I have seen many people with issues with their new scarlet-Ws. As much as I cant stand waiting, I do not like faulty products even more. especially one with such a high price tag. With that being said, I sit back and wait as it seems that the production came to a halt after the many reported issues with the system. Although I am impatient, I can say that I am happy that RED seems to be slowing down things so that they can get everything right. I would hate to send my camera in after such a long wait because I found there to be issues with my screen or something else.

Not to bust a good conspiracy but the toasty 4.7" monitors are not the cause for any delays, and Scarlet-W isn't having and production halts from "issues".

We are purely at the mercy of sensors. Over demand under supply which will resolve itself as Helium relieves the higher end pressure.

We should be able to blast through all those that switched from Ravens to Scarlet-Ws in the next few weeks and onward and upward from there.

If July production for Scarlet-W was total shit, August is going to be good, September is going to be great, and October should be Phenomenal from a sensor perspective.

Would Red ever consider the possibility of allowing people to upgrade direct from Epic Dragon to Weapon Helium because of this apparent shortage of Dragon sensors.
I am sure there would be quite a few people interested in that as an option. I wouldn't even mind there being a financial penalty for effectively skipping a geniration of camera.

For this to hold true, I am assuming the "higher end pressure" refers more to WPN Mg than 8k VV. If it's the former then is it safe to assume some 6k WPN will be Helium?, and secondly, will there be an upgrade path from 6k WPN to 8k s35?
