  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

They say "Punishment is good for the soul". I don't have any evidence of that or even know who "They" is, but maybe there's something to that saying.

Perhaps this could be handled much like the Scarlet-W allocation has been handled, where the amount of time waiting determines who gets allocated first. I'm sure a lot of MX upgraders will be happy to jump on the EPIC-W bandwagon, but some of us are on our 9th+ month of waiting. I assume putting down the $10K upgrade fee may include a lengthier wait for some (get your Scarlet-W soon, or pay more and wait a bit longer for EPIC-W).

I'd happily let go of my seems-likely September allocation for the EPIC-W upgrade, but probably not if it means another nine month wait. EPIC-MX upgraders still have their 5K. Us waiters haven't tasted 5K yet.

Yes, I'm totally biased.

Wow, I'm switching my order from a Scarlet-W to Epic-W. Great deal. I won't lobby you for priority one way or the other.

It likely will be in the form of a $10k move from Scarlet-W to Epic-W.

Great to hear that Scarlet W owners will have an opportunity to upgrade for 10K, don't mind waiting till everybody's got their camera. Great news all around, only thing missing are the new batteries :)
 
I think Scarlet-W switchers should have priority on this. These guys are the reason this update thread exists more or less. They've seen Raven switchers taking their place in the que so I think it's a nice thing to do for them :)

One question. If you have a SW Package on order, is it 10k to just the Epic W body? or is it 10K to an Epic W package?
Bcus that might end up being a lot more than 10k to get all the aks.

Am I reading this right? For EXISTING S-W owners as well?

So I already have my Scarlet-W (and I love it), but I can pay $10K and upgrade to Epic-W as well? I just have to wait till everyone gets sorted?

If so, that's an insane deal and would throw a huge monkey wrench into my buying priorities next year - Epic-W upgrade or Sigma Cine Primes.

your guess meaning 10k on top of the package to go up to just brain. Or you think for that 10k, i'll be able to upgrade the brain and still get those aks that was in the original package.
Either way it's a serious consideration and i need to scramble for some more money.
if i need to add all new aks on top of it, then that 10k for body easy adds another 10k easily. That might be harder for me to get to.

Damn, this is too much a dilemma. If so, helluva deal for all S-W owner. The dilemma is my 1997 Subaru needs to be replaced as well and 2017 was originally going to be - 1) Sigma Cine Primes and 2) new cheapish Kia Soul ($16K or so). But now, I might have skip the car and get Epic-W and Sigma Cine primes and hope my Subaru makes it another year.

Damn... too much torture, LOL.

any chance Red (or anyone else) is going to make a Side Handle relocator for gimbal work?
 
As Epic MX owner I really don't mind that people waiting for their Scarlet-W get first in line for Epic-W. We still have our (amazing) camera, they don't. Can't wait for October 3rd to get the specs!

Really cool to see how you guys take care of your people.
 
Cool news- if we bought used (Epic MX) and went through both the Red Transfer of Ownership and Re-Certified Warranty at the time we bought it, are we still eligible?
