So if I order a Scarlet-W now, am I looking at the end of this year/beginning of next year to receive it?

Clive, IA! I went to University of Iowa, live in Des Moines/Marshalltown for a bit before heading up to Minneapolis. Nice to see an Iowa face around here, haha.

The store page for the Scarlet-W currently lists Early 2017 as the delivery for new orders.

The footie from Helium is ridiculous. Even while shooting with it, looking at the RED Touch, your jaw drops to the floor. Throw that up on a big monitor/projector in post and your nuts hit the floor. Take a look at the list of all the special/fortunate people who currently own a Helium sensor...that list should speak for itself.

Funniest quote of the month!! I love it.

Mixed feelings about September... My birthday is in two weeks, but at the same time I want it to be October :D haha, or iets even better: good things happen in both months!!

I thought the answer was no, but if it is yes I am very interested as I have Scarlet MX to sell and otherwise should wait until after Oct announcement

+1 to any kinda scarlet mx upgrade path to Epic-W / helium weapon as Mike above. I would definitely do this and keep my epic dragon or upgrade both to same for S3D work if I could afford both. Also interested in helium / dragon 8K 4:3 sensor cut anamorphic camera.

FD SSC & Lomo anamorphic sets.

Sorry Chris, I'm getting checked out for dementia, and things are getting bad at times real recently.

I take it that you think it's Jaw droppingly good ungraded, and there are some good people that own them (but how that proves how good it is, I don't know, as it was a snap purchase, and people around hetevare likely to buy just because it is Red), but this doesn't show me frames so I can judge myself?

Yes...wondering how you use the focus though holding with two hands the handles...I am waiting my new side handle especially as I can pull focus with it!

Finding a first AC can take time. I am lucky enough to know a few close friends who i get along great with that help me pull focus. I actually just bought a new remote follow focus (Dji) for my close friend Travis, who has been pulling for me. Best way to meet people is to work with them. Take opportunities to work on projects that require a Crew, even if you are not the guy holding the camera. Honestly I have so much fun when I am on the Grip team, or even 2nd AC. it gives me a chance to meet more people.

Good suggestion my friend, but at the moment all my planned works are one man crew! I produce mainly "magic/mentalism" related productions and Fashion, not huge jobs at the moment.
BUt really will be useful something that help me to pull focus by myself...

I don't always work on "Big" jobs but when i work i try to make sure there is room for more than just me. I did that for a long time, and sometimes i will work on shoots solo. For me, best part about what we do is it is very collaborative, I didn't realize how much that was true until a red showed up at my door.

When i have to focus by my self in a handheld set up, i use an Easyrig to help support the camera

I found a model and a couple of film students who were fed up with the lack of attention to actual education and started teaching them how to be part of the crew. It's been working quite nicely... and of course the one who also models always makes for nice looking BTS images with the camera ;)

How do you like that DJI follow focus? I was just looking more into that. Do you get good range on it? And to keep the thread on topic, I'll throw in -- Anybody been allocated recently on the S-W?
