  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

For WEAPON Mg, yes. For WEAPON CF, no.

Guys, it is not Oct 11, so of course you are not going to see upgrade eligibility yet!
 
This deal is so crazy. I really think I'm going to pull the trigger and jump from Raven all the way to epic-w. Depending on payment options but I can't with a clear head not take advantage of this
 
I thought I had this all figured out, but now I'm a bit lost again. Maybe someone could set me straight. Thanks in advanced for any clarification.

I'm a current Scarlet Dragon (Owner) who put $1,000 deposit down on a SCARLET-W (SCARLET DRAGON OWNER) PACKAGE, for a TOTAL PRICE (w/ 1 OLPF): $12,000.00 and I got to keep my Scarlet Dragon. The package came with the SCARLET-W BRAIN (w/ integrated media bay), DSMC Al Canon Mount (Captive), DSMC2 RED Touch 4.7" LCD, DSMC2 Base I/O V-Lock Expander, RED MINI-MAG 120GB, DSMC AC Power Adaptor, SCARLET-W Case.

At least that's how I remembered it, but I don't trust my memory anymore these days...

Now, if I want to get the Epic W, I would add $10,000 on top of that price for a total of $22,000 (minus already placed $1,000 deposit) and give up all included accessories and have to turn in my Scarlet Dragon and have to add any needed DSMC 2 accessories on top of that? Am I getting that right? Or is it $10,000 on top of just the price of a Scarlet W by itself of (w/ 1 OLPF): $9,950.00 for a total of 19,950 and I turn in my Scarlet Dragon and have to add any needed DSMC 2 accessories on top of that.

There are still details missing, but as I understand it, at the moment, you either stay in line and wait for your 'SCARLET-W (SCARLET DRAGON Owner) Package' as you've described above, or make a new order for a 'Scarlet-W Brain' before Oct-11 and upgrade that to an 'Epic-W Brain' order on Oct-11, or wait until Oct-11 and place an order for an Epic-W upgrade that will cost you more than upgrading from a Scarlet-W and which will require you sending your Scarlet-D back to RED as some kind of trade-in.

I'd like to know if it's possible for current Scarlet-Dragon owners who have a 'SCARLET-W (SCARLET DRAGON Owner) Package Deposit' in place, to have that order changed to a 'SCARLET-W BRAIN DEPOSIT' (which can then be upgraded to an 'EPIC-W BRAIN DEPOSIT' on OCT-11), without losing the original 'SCARLET-W (SCARLET DRAGON Owner) Package Deposit' time-stamp and while still enabling the owner to keep their Scarlet-Dragon camera (like they could with the original 'SCARLET-W [SCARLET DRAGON Owner] Package Deposit').

Man, this thread moves fast. I used to be in the habit of keeping up with this forum, but I've been shooting so much this year that I've rarely had the time. At 327 pages and counting, it's hard to keep up.

I understand the date to watch for is Oct. 11.

It seems like many of the posters on this thread have plans about putting deposits on things, Scarlet-W etc, selling their cameras, and on and on.

My question is not for Brent & Jarred but just to REDUser in general, how many other folks out there are standing by with their trusty Epic Dragons or even Epic/Scarlet-MXs waiting to hear how it plays out for you?
I'm hoping we're able to benefit from this deal without playing resale/pre-order acrobatics.

I feel increasingly interested in Helium. I'm hoping (probably in vain) that an Epic Dragon owner can get to Helium Weapon for something in the $20k or less neighborhood.. how crazy am I? For 20 or less it's a no-brainer for me. Anything more and I have to think about some other life choices on the horizon.

Just thinking out loud, I guess.

A figure of something around $17500 has been put forward by other Redusers as a possible upgrade price, with trade-in of old camera, for an Epic-W (the 8K Helium camera less powerful than the 8K Helium Weapon). An actual Helium Weapon would be a lot more than that.

Hard to put into words how awesome some of these developments are.

Thought I saw something like that.

Anyone have thoughts on spec differences between an Epic-W and Helium Weapon?
