  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Three Axis Gimbal Thread

Sorry Rory, I must have mislead you. I wouldn't be "flying" it, just hand held. I'd still need to go the matte box route as S4's have a 110mm front and I'd also need to IR's as well. With the LiPo batt. How do you mount it? Velcro? What connector could I use to run F/I control and camera?

Hi Ned, I mount my LiPo with a velcro strap that is screwed into my Epic top plate and I also have velcro on the battery to keep it in place so it doesn't move around.
I use 4S 1300mAh batteries with I fly on my Octo as they power the camera for around 20 minutes and I can fly for about 10 so I'm good change batteries when I land.
For handheld work I use two 2S 2200mAh in series so get 4400mAh which will power the camera and accessories for an hour.

I custom make my own cables to power the Epic, RT Motion FF and ParaLinx. I also have a Y splitter cable the splits off the battery power to the camera and accessories and I run a low voltage alarm to know when I need to change the LiPo.

I sell these cables, and make ones for other FF and Tx, email me at lipo@minefilms.com

Hi Rory,
Don't you mean parallel rather than series? It's my understanding that wiring your two batteries in series is going to double your voltage and keep the Ah the same; whereas if you wire them in parallel, the voltage will be the same but Ah capacity will increase.

Hi!
I Orderd the SC:Newton from Swedish Chameleon in January. Because of delivery problems I'm still wating ... But my supplier informed me that SC will release a new version of Newton in about 8 weeks with a 32Bit-Controller. Will cost 500EUR more (about 5.000 EUR). I decided to wait 8 more weeks but I think it's worth.
