  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The RED library...

early on people went to the cinema and learned from the silver screen.
quentin tarantino got tapes from a video rental store as a learning library for film.
my generation got files from P2P.
I wonder what kind of library this is...

Sharing information is sharing power - the most altruistic act, also the wisest. Thanks for keeping your perspective despite some potentially discouraging moments.

Wont take long before Julian Assange and his droogs get hold of it ;-)

You guys are doing so many awesome things, and to think that you're just getting started blows my mind! Keep up the good work! :-)

6 years ago we knew nothing. We started from scratch. From zero.

Over the past few years we have been building a library... one that can be built upon.

Every day that goes by we learn something. We log it in and move forward... compiling.

I expect it won't be long before we actually know what we are doing... :-)

Thanks for your patience. In return... we'll upgrade you. N/C.

6 years ago, i knew not much about filmmaking. I just felt my hdv-camcorder isn't enough anymore. So i looked for something new, but didn't find anything that i could afford. I finally stumbled upon RED, i think it was a small article about Peter Jackson, one of my favorite directors. I was instantly sold, i had the feeling that this company really tries to do something new and i felt they'll do it right. They planned a affordable Scarlet, this was now my dream camera, i started saving money for it.

Over the past few years i saw lots of cameras coming and going, some stuff was tempting but i ignored them and kept saving, just because RED's plans where still so much better than anything. I've spread the message to many friends.

Every day i log in here and read i learn something, not just technical stuff, even the details about the people behind the company and their visions, their ways to do business which makes me feel more and more comfortable to pump my money to you.

I expect it wont be long before i actually know for what i've spent my money and what i'm going to do with it. My Scarlet finally ships this week. I can't say how excited i am.

Thanks for doing what you're doing and how you're doing it, you guys are a inspiration. It was and will be a pleasure to follow your ride. In return... you'll get my money, my support and i will be silently patient (knowing it's worth it). ;)

Awesome.

Any plans for a train the trainers course(with additional instruction on how to educate, rather than just a technical skill)?

some turn the knowledge into ashes, some hide it in the abyss...
Very curious what Red has decided to share with us.
Cheers and thanks again !

I love all the positive energy that's swirling around this thread, and the sharing of knowledge that's been compiled over the past 6 years! So much to learn...

Could not be more stoked to see what you guys come up with, and absorb it all. You are truly redefining the relationship between company and customer.
