I'd take you up on that, but honestly... it wouldn't be fair; keep it quiet, but I'm actually working (early stages yet) on my own SSD solution for RED storage.

If I can't get it working in year, I should give up hacking! If I can't put it together for less than $800/128GB... well we'll see!

When RED announced that they were not a prosumer company anymore I think they meant it. We are buying all the RED gear we can (RPZ17-50, 2x 64GB SSD, RR Card, Readers, Plates and handles, Quick release system) before we get our EPIC X and its turning out to be a big investment, but an amazing one. I don't see many people really being able to afford SCARLET. Thus it will become a run and gun option for the high end indie guys and professionals alike. Scarlet 8x will be an amazing work horse camera for us and our day to day shoots. We shoot on 2/3in chip cameras now for the majority of what we do, and the scarlet will fit nicely into our work flow. Very excited for EPIC X and SCARLET 8x!
