  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The R90

LOVE this....

Ironically... this is the name of my Jet Ski... I had one SINK in September... got the insurance off it... the new one was Red, so as a joke I had the stickers "Red September" put on it!

Jarred... Ordered...!!

Time could have not been more perfect!!

Mr. Monochrome is so happy... Oh and of course M8 as well... ;)

$1,950? Ouch...
Wish it was under 1K (lol)

Once you see and feel this thing you will understand why. It starts out as a pretty big chunk of metal machined down to it's final precise arc.

Hey Jarred, is it's pivot point aligned to the center of the lens? The one I saw at NAB wasn't.

I can appreciate how some one might see it as expensive, however if like me you have purchased any other Heads that can allow a Landscape/Vertical adjustment, you'll find pouty that they cost close to it, yet they are an incredible pain to balance and level at each change in orientation.

So I am very happy to finally have the R90 on the way, and eliminate all those BawlHeads, Photographic Gear-heads, ( NO, not the Gearnex Gearhead) Cubes, Arcaswiss and so on... ;)

noticed that it's not rotating round the centre of the lens axis. is it possible to tune to that?

I agree that from the photo, it doesn't look like it but, if the rail is actually a segment of a full circle - which it may not be (!!) - then, I think, the camera actually would be rotating around the center of the lens. It would be interesting to know if this is true or not.

If the length between the base and the center of the lens is longer than the radius of the R90 I don't think that so much you can do... sadly...

You can do this with Remote Head (if you know How to balance). Here is my version;
