Nikolas,

Looks fantastic.

I've been in the process of building my own. I have to ask, how did you settle on fitting the MacBook Pro? My ideas of having it 'flush' meant creating some kind of stepper frame to drop it in to. The other option was to clamp it directly above using a set of clamps but I have that setup currently with a Nine-Volt Digi Plate and it just lacks finesse.

hey grant
thank you very much.

we put a second plate / "bowl" in which is - of course - lower and attached to the main plate.

Yep, that was how I tried to solve the problem too. Was hoping someone had thought of something more elegant but glad to see it finish so well. Congrats.

One thing, I noticed the trailer said 'Carry On'. I assume you don't really mean airplane carry on? Seemed much bigger than a 1510

unfortunately not for airplane carry on. was my goal first, but i just couldn't fit everything i wanted into a smaller case.
with carry on i mean more the mobility and you don't need an extra car to move it.

Don't doubt it. Even as a photo-DIT kit I ain't able to cram everything into a 1510.

maybe with a smaller laptop (13") it would be possible.
if it turnes out i need to fly from country to country with this thing - which would be more than amazing - i will make it fit in a smaller one. whatever it takes. hehe.

My own pared down version would have a 13" MBPro and only a REDmag Reader. Did you guys build this around an available chassis or is it custom?

Very Nice... pm with a number ;)
Congrats

It's all custom.
To make it an airplane carry on case I'd need to loose some stuff - or get on a 13" - and maybe had to bring the connections and fans to the outside of the chassis, which then makes it less watereproof.

Hi Nikolas,

Thanks for the Share!!
Where did you buy your Connections from? They look really cool!!
The Ethernet, USB, HDI & HDSDI connectors in the Black Plastic.
