Back in December of 2006 I wrote a post titled:
The Natives are Getting Restless
I was reacting to a lot of posts on REDUSER after Jim posted about a delay on shipping the RED ONE. Here is that link -

Funny to think about how people felt then - and then think about all the films and television shows being shot in RED MX now.
I'm writing this post now because I'm out here in Los Angeles for a few meetings and I dropped by RED on Monday.
Jim showed me a clip shot in HDRx on EPIC.
My initial reaction was ... OMG - THAT'S AMAZING.
But now, two days later - I just can not stop thinking about what I saw with my own eyes.
I have not seen anything RED-related as significant IMO since I first saw an alpha version of REDCODE working in the booth at IBC 2006.
If EPIC was physically bigger than ALEXA and uglier than Canon's 4K concept camera (not sure if that is possible) - it actually wouldn't matter. The images speak for themselves - and no matter what I post - you guys will eventually see it and you will all understand.
EPIC WILL BE THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER CINEMA CAMERA IN THE INDUSTRY - WORLDWIDE - ALMOST OVERNIGHT
Worth the wait and then some.
Trust me when I say that I can not find words to express how badly I want an Epic in my hands.
I have clients, producers, DPs, even Studios asking me every day .... WHEN can I provide them with Epic cameras.
It's hard to not have an answer.
But I find myself suddenly at peace. I've seen what I needed to see. I've seen the future.
Patience is not easy. It is a virtue.
And patience is not only a virtue but a necessity for a happy existence.
Try it.
I want to personally thank EVERY SINGLE PERSON that works for RED. Please don't listen to the noise - just keep doing what you are doing.
PS - Graeme ... all I can say is ... FUCKING BRILLIANT. Please ship me several gallons of whatever drinking water you have up there in Canada ... I don't know how you do what you do ...
