  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The most fun I have ever had...

Thanks for sharing the fun!

Thanks for sharing the fun!

I hate to admit it but I was starting to get bored with being a cameraman before RED came along.

Thanks for making a camera that got me pumped up about image making again, its been a huge positive impact on my life.

Speaking of positive impacts, when I shot with the F55 the other day I couldn't help but thank RED far more than Sony. Without RED, the F55 would have come out in 2016 for $100K.

Cheers - #19

One of my fondest EPIC memories is going through the security in Amsterdam, and having the security with clear anxiety say sir, it is important we check your bag right now!!! Some worried passenger heard and also wanted to know what was in it. When I opened the bag, he said to the officer next to him, get Bas urgently!!! The passenger moved off quickly thinking something bad was going to happen. A few shouts out loud to a officer on the other-side of the room got every bodies attention. Bas came running, shouting what do we have!!! The excited guys shouted back AN EPIC, and some exchange in Dutch!!! Bas broke into a run, and the whole terminal was now trying to find a place to duck or hide before this EPIC went off. Bas was excited as the other guy. Bas looked at me, and said, do you mind sir if I hold it just once?? I have been waiting for one of these to come through here, and this is the first! He handled with extreme car, posed for a picture, and said his day was made. I think about 10 people on the flight asked me what an epic was, and why it was so special. I'm sure I said something cheesy like it makes dreaming possible or something like that.

I've had a lot of people perch themselves next to me and start drooling, but that's a really great story! LOL

RED....ITS NOT JUST A CAMERA, ITS A LIFESTYLE & ADVENTURE

We're so glad this is your idea of fun. I'm also a stress junkie, trying to learn how to do things slower, but can't quite pull it off.

Red changed me from a videographer to a cinematographer. Made a living for years with betacams, but I had to really up my game to shoot Red. And it has been fun.

p.s. Adding matte boxes made the camera look cooler, but is actually a PIA when you are moving fast. The new lens mount will change my style once again, and lighten my load, and make better footage all at once. Nice gear!!!!!

Even without been able to get any of the new goodies, I got in for the ride in 2008 and I don't regret it. Nobody has make a camera I get to love like my original RED ONE. I still keep it with me. I still shot with the original M sensor (even I own an amazing EPIC, too). I still love the unsurpassed images it gives me with that lovely and particular feel.

I may not be able to get in queue for the DRAGON upgrade yet, but I'm 1000% in with you guys!

Gotta love RED, the best partners for a cinema lover!

You have To Kill Us to Beat us

You have To Kill Us to Beat us

Many of you know that I started Oakley with $300. Well... that was quite a 30 year ride. Incredible actually...

But I have to say that I have never had so much fun since I starting RED.

This ride is hard to describe. It trumps all others. And nothing is close.

At Oakley... we had an incredible fan base. Still do. At RED... we have an INCREDIBLE fan base! One that inspires us to do our best work times forever.

The competition at Oakley was strong. RayBan. Vuarnet. A hundred others. The competition at RED is Sony, Arri... BIG guys. Really BIG guys. And a ton more. Competition on steroids.

There is nothing like real competition to help you decide who you are. Can you lead? Or do you follow? What is the future? Do you define it? Or do you just sink in the abyss of history?

We work 24 hours a day to serve our customers and attempt to deliver the future. When you Google "you have to kill us to beat us"... RED should be the 1st thing you see. If not, Google sucks.

My life has been dedicated to making a difference and delivering the future. You get to decide if we pass or if we fail.

Bring it.

Jim

Thanks mate. Loving shooting RED. Can't wait to shoot Dragon.

You passed that test in 2008 with RED ONE, the rest is just icing on the cake.

Thanks for making a difference to my work and all those who use red cameras.

I respect your grind and hustle .... $300 to billions that is a real boss move..... hope one day I can reach that level of thinking....

After a little Google search today, with the sentence "you have to kill us to beat us"
your quote arrive second.
Not bad at all considering the sentence is dated from the 04-12-2013.
