  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Meizler Module... The Details.

Hi Jarred,

Will there be RED Armor available for the Meizler Module? If so, what is the price and how long will it be covered?

Thanks so much!

Just crossing a few t's and dotting a few i's on price and duration, guys. Once we have it wrapped up, we will email all with Meizler orders to see if they want to add it on. From there, will be like the brains where you have to order at time of purchase.

Hi RED Team just thought of something for Red SNYC what about a button to close the app so you can't close it during shooting with the HOME button, What do you think?

Any chance the Redmote Pro will work with the Meizler when it comes out?

I know I'm shamelessly fishing.

You know what they're gonna say...

"This isn't the RedMote you're looking for... move along"

Questions on the 5-pin dual balanced audio input:

Assigned to channels 3 & 4 or can they be mapped to channels 1 & 2 ?

Will they be switchable mic / line?

Phantom enabled?

Does the 5-pin audio connector and wireless audio from REDsync Master share the same channels or can they all be operational at the same time?

Questions related to the AUX power connections:

Rated power output on each of the two 1B Lemo's =________.

Rated power output on the 3-pin Fischer = _________.

Fuses...

Just noticed the Meizler Module was up on the Red Store. Just a note, it would be useful to have both top and bottom views of the module attached to the camera.

Nope an IDX V lock plate terminates at the rear. But what else could you want?

SSD side module, Pro I/O (no XLR on the Meizler, still only one SDI, no ?), Battery module ?
Especially for those, that having bought into the module stuff, which in a solid way is completely neglected by the Meizler.
Not criticizing, just stating. If there would have been a Meizler from the very beginning ok, but now people have either invested in the modularity, or have been, well, 'forced' (I got the battery module in my package, which is still laying around, basically blocking cash), and have invested in batteries as well. Which I may want to use ?
And the side SSD is actually a pretty clever extension, unusable with Meizler now, correct ?

[*]Secure Transmission secure between the camera and receivers.
[*]HDMI receives up to 90ft away from Camera.

When you say secure, do you mean encrypted? As in reporters/papparazzi, etc will not be able to steal shots?

Can the operating distances be increased by use of antenna or amplifier systems. I am thinking of drone applications which can fly a few hundred feet up.

Curious is this the Amimon chipset?

Thanks

Ok, now I digged through all pages again. I didn't find answer for:
- 15mm support ?
- power draw ?
- can it be self mounted ? (Guess so, but well, it is not a module like they used to be..)
- looks like power and video may be taken from the base I/Os or are they just covered and everything goes through the brain contacts ?
Really only one SDI out ?

Thanks for clearification.

..RTMotion and Bartech hand controllers as well as Preston and CMotion.

Highend controllers are nice but with the number of owner operator growing, middle-end is the upper limit.
Bartech already has thousand of units outhere, RTMotion is soldout for months. I'm sure they is money to be made.

second that!

Clearly the emphasis on the Meizler's design is to be a wireless workhorse. I can see Pro I/O/ and V-Mount setups filling in the gap for those who need more XLR inputs. To me the addition of another SDI port would be nice, but it also would take up space and it's something that can be done via a splitter elsewhere. Less wires coming off the camera is a good thing. Unless were's talking about using SDI field monitor on camera as well as feeding to video village, but then again splitting is an option and some monitors have pass throughs.

The side SSD is still usable with the Meizler.

- 15mm support ?

I'm thinking that if you are focused on LWS 15mm and the Meizler Module that top mounting your accessories is likely the most compact way to go overall with the system. I can also see room for an extended 15mm LWS baseplate solution, but that would not be a good idea for certain lenses.

I use both 19mm and LWS 15mm for my rigs. LWS 15mm is the smallest and most compact you can go, but 19mm isn't much larger in reality and is more stable.

Sorry if this has been answered elswhere:

But it seems with the Meizler on i Cannot use the DSMC Quick Release or Clutch anymore.

Is there a smart Solution to this ?

Would be too sad to have to not be able to use Clutch when Meizler is in the Game ( and it really seems Meizler is gonna be the DE FACTO Future Standard on Professional Film Sets )
