  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Meizler Module... The Details.

I know that having instant editable files will make this box fly out the door... Im going to buy one just for this reason.

I'm sure they made it right, not like the problem we had with the PIX240 not having exatcly the same TC between R3D and the Prores Proxy.

The module is impressive.

Hmm, looks like I'm going to need an older Red One style AC adapter with the larger power port on the MM... Funny, my DSMC AC adapter just got a pin stuck in the connector and I need a new one. I really should have both!

As great as the proxy features are, it needs to be a separate module. Please tell me that's still on the table.

it's on the table, i'm sure about this, they created the hardware and software for it now in this module, and then after this one is out, they will start bringing out smaller modules with some of the modules of this one.

While I personally don't use/need most of the features available in the Meizler module, it's amazing to see RED respond to the working industry in this way. It's also a bonus that it makes the camera look that much sexier haha. How did you guys fit that all in there?!

Agreed Justin it is important that Red makes this module helping Epic serve the top end of town but I hope Red does not forget its largest base of Epic users and build some more ecomomic modules that do not need to do everything. Hopefully the whole point of the modular design is flexibility and choice.

It looks pretty clear to me that Red will design a smaller proxy recorder. All that R+D and new miniMags won't just be for the MM.

Bob,

I agree it would seem logical to put the already developed and proven technology in the Meizler "Swiss army Knife" module into smaller cheaper specialised modules. I just hope that these modules are well into development and are not still on the drawing board.
