  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Martian - Ridley Scott + Dariusz Wolski shot on RED DRAGON

I just saw it tonight and loved it. I too noticed some of the earth scenes looked as if the shadows were lifted some. Less contrast. But the movie sucked me in so much I completely forgot it was shot on Red.
Can't wait to see it again.

Just a phenomenal ride! So good. My wife loved it as much as I did.

Fans of the book should be pleased, and if you haven't read it but liked the movie, check it out! It has a lot to offer.

Science nerdiness as action!

Riddley Scott has definetly lost his touch. What a waste of possibilities.
How on earth (or Mars) can you focus for 210 minutes on the mechanics of how to survive?
Why wouldn't it be interesting to see the inner workings of a man alone in another world, the psichological side of a castaway?
This guy just had a blast of a time minus a few scratches and a strict diet.

You can't if the film is 144 minutes long. :nonod:

Just like the book.

Congratulations for all involved in the making of this amazing movie. Unfortunately no best cinematography nomination, but best movie is not bad...

Just watched the movie on Apple itunes download.

The closing titles say Panavision.... no mention of red?

Anyone know details how the HDR 4K UHD BD master was made? Official statements indicate 2K DI data and higher res camera data was used. But how? All non sfx shots regraded from Redcode in 4K, and the sfx shots upsampled from 2K and then regraded in 4K?
