I just watched "The Making Of" THE RETURN (a most excellent Russian film). Very decent Making Of too.

Another couple of "Making Of's" that are worthwhile are to be found with The Others, The Fountain, and The Fall.

Any other suggestions?

The Children of Men making of is a must see. I am also a fan of The Fountain which had a very good making of.

Benjamin Button has great in-depth behind the scenes. I need to watch the making of The Fall- such an underrated movie. I thought it was amazing.

There's a good one for El secreto de sus ojos - the five or so minute continuous chase scene at the stadium and how it was put together plus they use one of the lightest RED setups I've seen yet.

The making of king kong is awesome! Its super long though like 3 hours!

The "Lord of the Rings" trilogy has 8 hours of BTS for each movie. That's 24 hours of really good stuff on everything from music, to sound design, VFX, miniatures, everything.

Im so keen to get my hands on that! Could you direct me to where I can find those?

The Blu-rays of Lord of the Rings have fairly detailed making-of docs. They even have a short bit on color timing, which I thought was pretty unusual. My favorite segment was one on Return of the King, where Jackson decides in the middle of the sound mix to rework the editing on a scene, throwing the entire process into a tizzy at the last minute. Pretty amazing moment -- but he made the movie better, so it's hard to argue with it.

It's the extended edition dvds.

The extended versions of Frighteners(didn't find the 3 disc dvd version on Amazon, maybe it wasn't released in the US? The HD-DVD should have similar extras though except the storyboards) and King Kong has pretty sweet extra material too.

And then of course, the masterpiece. Good Taste Made Bad Taste, the main reason I began pursuing filmmaking at all. Maybe that and Evil Dead.

The interesting thing about "making of" films is that they can be very decent and informative even if the film itself was so-so.

I also recently watched Copolla's Tetro (many times over) I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of chai, but I loved the movie. An old fashioned, and unapologetically theatrical, brilliant melodrama. Anyway, the making of is also decent.

Any other (making of) suggestions out there?
