  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The List - Please maintain

Scarlet X numbers 38 and 299 (Cagney and Lacey) arrived today - London.

PL mount - came with body and mains power adapter.

Order number:1111040512220454

Is it just me or are the order numbers slightly different for RED UK and Europe. Seems the ones in the US start with 005XXXX currently? So are they running off of a different system and queue over there?

That's not the SO #. That's the time stamp that came with the email for the order.

SO 959 will be ready for pickup sometime next Thur/Fri! Everything except side handle is ready!

I thought the wait to today was going to be painful, but next week is going to go so slooooow...

Congrats, Justin! Good to hear. Now lets see if you still keep up with the list after you get your camera. :)

Updated!

I guess Jarred was talking about next Friday in the backorder update...

I checked with FEDEX, you can't do a hold/pickup at a local facility with how these shipments are setup.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that but it may all depends on the type of facility you're dealing with. I live in a small town so I can just drive over to the "facility" and pickup the package. If you're dealing with a bigger facility, you're most likely face some bureaucracy. I would just figure out where's the Scarlet is being held and go beg for its release, seriously. :)

No, he made a bunch of announcements about accessories coming out of backorder on certain dates, as well as details about Epic Stage 3. Nothing about Scarlet, but it sounds like most of our accessories (save that cursed side handle, of course) will be shipping regularly in the next few weeks.

Hope anything about Scarlet status is coming. I recently ordered mine and am dying to know something, I can't imagine how all you November orders feel!

It could have been about the new spinner, gunner & accessories in the store as well??
Just updated. If everyone could remember to send me camera serial #s and names along with SO #s i could get that info in to. Thanks!

Scarlet came in this morning! #132! So excited to shoot with it! Here is a little video of my opening :)

Haha Everyone always looks so confused by the side place for where the SDD module goes in these videos. Congrats! Have fun with it. Can't wait to see what you shoot!

I find it very entertaining that everyone keeps commenting on the smell of the camera coming out of the box.

Also, #695. So there are at least ~700 in existence, yeah?

Not really. Serial numbers are all over the place.

I seriously doubt the serial number has any significance in terms of the order it comes out the assembly meaning the highest serial number in the wild does not indicate the total number of completed Scarlet.

Well i'm sure we can agree that at the very least, the back plates are machined sequentially (in batches). But I can see how they might just be tossed in a pile and attached to nearly complete camera bodies randomly.

Yeah, my assumption is that the cameras are completed in numerical order, then put in a pile, and then grabbed at random, bolting a lens-mount on, then delivered.

Didn't occur to me that the camera bodies themselves could be finished out-of-order.

Sounds very logical.
