The List - Please maintain

... Why does Red have so many problems with delivery ?

I wouldn't presume to speak for Red regarding what you deem to be their "problems" with delivery. However, you have to keep in mind that Red is a relatively small company (compared to Sony, Panasonic, JVC) that is now producing unheard of products (at their relative price-points) for what can only be described as a niche market. Coupled with that, you have the classic supply vs. demand issues. Indeed, it would be nice to simply pay your money and walk away with your camera or whatever product. Hopefully, that day will soon come. But, that's not the way it is now. If you have followed the progress and development of Red and its products, then you should know that basically, " ... you pays your money and you waits in line ..." Sometimes the line is short or non-existent, sometimes the line is long. That's life. I ordered my Scarlet Canon AL Package on 12/12. I have been pretty "zen" about the whole thing ... hoping maybe by this summer my order would be filled. I certainly knew going in that there would be a wait. Yesterday, I received an e-mail from Red stating that my touch screen was going out. That's progress. When will I receive my full Scarlet package? I don't know. Hopefully, soon. But, whenever I receive it, I am convinced that it will have been worth the wait!

Here's a data point: About 4 years ago, before I had much knowledge about RED, I did my research and decided to but a JVC GY-HD110. This was a camera that was already in the marketplace. Funny thing was, I couldn't find one anywhere. Took me a couple weeks of looking around until a dealer that saw my inquiry on a web forum let me know that he had two cameras coming in within a couple weeks and only one was spoken for. This was giant JVC. This stuff happens. That's life.

It's getting better: Just called Red to remind them that I wanted will-call for my touch screen (since I live only about 15 minutes from Red's facility in Irvine) and was told that my Red Volts, Red Station and Travel Charger are also ready. Significant progress!

SO# 6931, Canon AL Package, ordered 12/12/2011.

Look like people wait approximately two month to get their The Red Scarlet , approximately , some have wait 3 month , the luckiest are around 1 month and a half .

Being as they've only been shipping for 2 months, nobody has actually been waiting for 3 months.

It's technically been shipping for about 2.5 months and today would mark 3 months for those who ordered on the 3rd.

Personally I'm impressed with delivery times. We are close to 3 months since Scarlet was released, SO number allocations are now up in 2000's. Things seem to be moving ahead at a brisk rate. This is a 1st for this company, a new product shipping in sizeable numbers within months of orders being placed & all happening whilst delivering massively backordered Epics & all drawing on the same line of accessories. Things have changed!

P.S. I heard there is a 5 month wait for Alexa.

I'm just guessing, but two theories...

1. The span from 2000 or so and up is where a lot of SOs are not going to be Scarlets. I'd imagine that dang near every order Red got on the 3rd and 4th were for Scarlets. After that time regular Red MX and AKS orders started coming back in.

2. This is the are where people were getting a bit more discouraged about when they were going to get their Scarlet so they've either canceled their order, or they are not watching this web space with as much anticipation/anxiety/mania as the people were close to the top of the list and therefore anticipating a speedy arrival of their Scarlet.

Could be dead wrong, but that would be my guess.

I'll buy theory #1; I think that makes a lot of sense. After the initial flood of orders, people probably started to think through what additional accessories they'd want/need and put in orders for those while others of us, who were a little more deliberate, got around to ordering our Scarlets.

From SO 850 to 1877 there seems 284 entries and from so 1877 to 6904 there are 280 entries.
approximetly it jumps 1000 SO s for 284 entries and 5000 SO's for 280 entries
What might be the reason for that?

I'm certain that Justin's first theory is 100% correct. Those SO#s do not just apply to Scarlets, they apply to anything ordered from the store. You would get a SO# probably around 0059000 if you ordered a T shirt. Just because you're SO#7000 doesn't mean your the 7000th person to order a Scarlet. I still to this day believe that the amount of orders are much lower than most think, not to say that people aren't interested in the camera, but it's not like a 7D that 1000's of people are going to go out and buy on the first day (or any one particular day for that matter.
