  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thanks! Your PL Harrison? Thats good news as PL seems to be moving a long. I will have to see once funds get taken, and how long it takes to ship.

I was sitting down for class when I got the email on my pad, and for some reason, I decided to wear my Red tshirt that day ahaha, possibly the good luck shirt.

Got my allocation email yesterday for SO# 1801, Canon AL package. Just waiting for the Side Handle now. For those waiting for Side Handles or Assault Base Plates, I got this update: "Regarding the DSMC Side Handle, we are currently estimating that this item will be out of backorder in early March. I don’t have an ETA for when the SCARLET Base Production Pack yet because the Assault Plate is pretty backordered."

Received allocation Monday and today our Account Balance now reflects the charge for our Brain for SO#1687 Canon AL Package. We have received most everything but the brain and side handle. I saw the side handles should be out of BO by early March!
 
SO0903 Scarlet AL Package... Everything but side handle received a few weeks ago. Side Handle allocation email received yesterday. Redmote allocation email (from a Nov 3 order) received three days ago. Hard to believe, but once those two items ship out, my order is complete! Hang in there everybody. Things seem to really be moving now.

I believe there was just a handful of orders for the Canon TI version so as soon as they do start shipping I suspect they will get through them fairly quickly.

An encouraging sign? Just received an e-mail from Red that my Red Touch LCD is ready to ship.

SO# 6931, Canon AL Package, ordered 12/12/2011.

Very encouraging. I'm getting my REDMAG, REDStation, REDVOLTS, and charger from the package on friday. I ordered on 12/29. From what Jarred said, things are looking good for the Touch LCD. Hopefully I get notification for that soon too.
 
received my touchscreen allocation email today as well, SO# 5513. i was worried i'd end up getting a camera with no control method, but it looks like it'll be the reverse, which is a far more bearable situation, i feel! didn't expect to see anything at all for a while, hopes are heightened somewhat!

Thanks for the effort of gathering info. To make a long story short, if, say, I order today a Scarlet package (Canon mount), when will I get it for sure ?

If there is one recurring theme to this thread / this board / buying from RED… No one is going to tell you anything 'for sure'. Even when you order in stock items that you pay for immediately, no one will tell you when you'll get it for sure.

Only time you'll have a good idea is when you get the shipping notice from Fed-Ex.

Yes Glen, I've been following Red since the very beginning, and it seems that things didn't improve at all on this side ;-) I find quite normal that, when you buy something, that you get a delivery date, especially in the cinema business where everybody depends on schedules... Why does Red have so many problems with delivery ?

I'm sure you have been following since the beginning… which begs the question - Why would you ask when??? (I'm sure that I'm supposed to put a smiley face here to signify I'm not an ***hole)

Yeah I know - but even with their delivery problems we all still line up...
 
I'm asking maybe because of that, and because I think that an internet forum where you are in direct talk with the manufacturer is a good opportunity to tell them what you think, and what they should do instead of just admiring them, which is more an American attitude, I must convey ;-) In fact, I was more hoping an answer from the Red team ;-) You don't need to be aggressive, Glen, even if you shoot for food.
