  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The journey...

These times are historic. We all feel it.
It is the beginning of a new era in moving pictures.
A true revolution from a small group of dreamers...
isn't all this too much?.. fyi there are a lot of people outside shooting w/ different digital cameras.. haven't you noticed?

We all have noticed THANK YOU VERY MUCH! HEAR YE, the best of the affordable cameras out there is the Red. this is why we stay on this board and worship the God Jim and his unbegotten sons Natress and Jarred

Love your guts, Jim.

Thank you from the essence of my being.

You're right, there is a plethora of different digital cameras out there. I'm currently looking at them, for a shoot without the budget to support the Red and, my God, how instead does it get! You either pay a little less and get a whole lot less or you pay more and get... well, a whole lot less. There is nothing I can find that gives anywhere near the bang for buck of the Red One. The only camera I can see to rival it will come from Jim and co. as well (soon please).

Jim and the rest of the Red team, you have pulled off a magic trick that's left the competition looking for the mirrors instead of using their brains. You rock!

While i was in digital film school, we were looked down upon by our peers in the "REAL" Film Program. Digital would never be the equal of film. It would NEVER look as good. What reall got my goat: for all intents and purposes, they were right.

Then i got my REDucation.

And i can't wait to show off what my DIGITAL can do once i get a scarlet.

I've never worked with celluloid in my life. And, thanks to RED, I'll never feel the need to.

Cheers.

for your information shooting with a red camera is technically no different from shooting with a film camera. the recording formats may be different but the actual technique, aesthetics and practice are the same. sorry dude you might want to pick up a few film books or take a class. just joking! :emote_rainshower:

15 years ago I was asked to lecture to a group of Kodak sales folk on digital imaging, mostly Paintbox/Harry retouch type stuff. They asked me how they could sell more film, part of my answer was that in 15 years there probably would be no need for film anymore - not a real smart thing to stay when in Kodak Park in Rochester. Yet, here we are 15 years later...thanks Jim

What a ride this has been.

Scam.

NAB and "shiny" prototypes.

Peter Jackson's "Crossing the Line" from "Boris" and "Natasha". All there was was 24fps and a run/stop button.

Ché. Absolutely no camera features except 4K to CF (in the last 30 minutes). Soderbergh shooting a feature with no backup... 4 months before official release.

RED ONE released as a prototype. Customers given the chance to take $5K instead of their camera. No one bit.

Important Build 12, then Build 16... now Build 20 with new color science.

RED Rocket™™™. RPPs. REDCINE-X.

Scarlet and EPIC on the horizon. 500,000 views of "Testing, testing". 24 hours in a day. 7 days a week. No sleep. Insurmountable problems every step of the way. A community that demands and forgives.

"Book of Eli", "The Informant", "District 9"... and hundreds of others.

It really is mind-boggling what has happened in the last 3 years. We thank all of you that have been along for the ride. More to come.

Jim
You're too dumb to know what not to do.

Thanks for being dumb :)

Thank you Jim.

so far when it come to DIGITAL CINEMA and i will be graduating very soon when i purchase EPIC next summer.
And thank you Jim again for giving the right platform to GRAEMME to fullfil his destiny.

I was there in washington D.C
