I think Epic owners should not be concerned. Even if Scarlet comes with Epic like specs (doubtful in the frame rates department, at least), I'm sure Red will provide an upgrade to the Epic with the new 2012 sensor that will be affordable- just like they did with the Red One with the MX upgrade. I expect similar if not lower pricing for this upgrade. Scarlet users, however, will probably need to pay more. Having the Epic will warrant being always at the forefront of what Red can offer technically in absolute quality terms. The Scarlet will, I believe, also due to the difference of scale in production, come second in these upgrades. The Epic is the overclocked beast, the LM Racing version Red camera. The Scarlet is the road legal version. That's how I picture it, at least!
