The Hobbit...

[Detlev Eller]

5 years ago I made the decision to build a camera. 3+ years ago we delivered the 1st ones. Today we are announcing that one of the biggest movies of our time will be shooting on our cameras. Pretty unbelievable.

EXT. / INT WORLD
The crowd bows in awe. Silence. It´s a sacred moment.

[J Davis]

wow that's the big - that's an industry gauntlet, flag and signpost all-in-one

congrats to the entire RED team

Retirement to Fiji?

Jim

Does Fiji have high ground? The earth's crust seems to be having issues and is fighting among itself lately. Tsunamis, you know.

(Sorry for raining on your hiatus... I'm a worrier.):willy_nilly:

[Jeremy Torrie]

The Red Machine keeps rolling along. Awesome.

Too legit to quit Jim!

Retirement to Fiji?

Jim

Sorry man...but we aint lettin' you retire just when things are gettin' real fun around here

But if you do escape somehow, Fiji is a real good choice...several times in the past when I worked in NZ and Australia on the way back we stopped and hung out in Fiji. Love it there...

Way, way, way cool news on The Hobbit

[D Fuller]

Jim

[Russ Campbell]

Fantastic news. What an incredible accomplishment. Glad I'm on the RED bandwagon.

And you've dragged so many of us along in the wake, creating so many other opportunities to turn dreams into reality along the way.

I just shot my dream job last month and it never would have happened without the trail of people who I have met through using this camera. Not The Hobbit - something even cooler. My filmmakers bucket list is growing shorter.

Is your wife impressed yet?

[Elsie N]

.... I just shot my dream job last month...

Meryem, are you under NDA?

Jim

That's quite a synopsis! I don't think I was really very aware of this timeline until today, and now that I am, I'm lifting my jaw off the floor.

[John Burnley]

CONGRATULATIONS, Jim!!! Richly deserved.

[Ketch Rossi]

So now what else there is there really to say then a truly Big... CONGRATULAZIONI

Jim

I had a dream that I was helping Jackson film the Hobbit.... But it ended up I was just Tolkien in my sleep.

Congrats to RED! You are beyond legit now!

[Tim Morten]

It's a scam!

Huge congratulations!!!

Can't wait to see "There and Back Again" on the big screen! I'm proud of Red for creating the best camera in the world - I'm sure this will be the first of many features, but I'm equally sure that it will be one of the best (I just re-watched LoTR last week)...

Quite a way for Epic to come into the world! Be prepared for an intervention if Peter starts calling it "My precious..."
