  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

THE GREATEST HELICOPTER CAMERA EVER!!!!!!!

Sheesh... you guys are tough.. Did you both fall out of bed this morning, hit your heads and thought to pick on peoples spelling today...
Cripes.. Is this a camera forum or an english class.

Ha, but I had given you the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was your iphone 'reinterpreting' your typing. Should have just gone with it. ;)

Speechless. That is just frickin' awesome, unbelievable. Very cool. (Words fail!)

Appare It drifted over the time a few pixels. Got back to the factory for the answers. Apparently the reply was: "...the current software does not compensate for the rotation of the Earth - it will be fixed in future firmware upgrades...". :)

What? So, what is its frame of reference? The Milky Way?

That is very impressive.

Sorry if some this was already mentioned earlier and I missed it, but I just got some info from them and was told I could share:

Sounds like there are several customers in line, and they have already ordered parts for 10 units.
If I understood correctly they might start shipping in 3-4 months.
Sounds like there won't be units shipped to US customers till April 2012 because of a non-compete agreement.
Apparently there will be lots more carbon fiber on the final version to save weight.
They estimate rentals might fall around what Eclipse rentals are. Though there might be a little less shipping cost.
They might have a 3D unit already testing by October.

Few more details from an other e-mail:

The new gimbal is not a modification of the Cineflex, but a design started from scratch.
The non-export-restricted gyros work well because they are "doing things in a new way and we have more mass inertia to help us."
290mm works great, and "Probably could go double that easy or more."
They haven't tested with extreme telephoto lenses yet, but they liked the idea and want to test soon.

What? So, what is its frame of reference? The Milky Way?

It is a gyro so, yes, the point of reference is the universe. This was last year, so I think they have compensaed for the earth rotation by now. :)
