  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The full list of new RED stuff today...

The matte box was on display at NAB. I was told the pricing would be affordable (but more than the $0 listed in the store). There was also a lens support made by Red that should be available before any of the other products named.

That's what my 300 mm is waiting for. Hooray! :)

It's basically a lens rest (I believe). One end attaches to the rods and the other end has a padded curvature to hug the lens. I believe it can be twisted to make the rest higher/lower - kinda like old office chairs could be spun to raise/lower them. This is my guess only, just from looking at it.

Anyone thinks the 4x6 mattebox will be enough for all the Red lenses? Or a 6X6 be better? I suppose Red has tought about it before making it right? Can't wait for the price annoucement too!!!

A 4x 5.6 mattebox will work just as well on the Red One as a 6x6 would on a film camera shooting full gate (full height) super35.
All my grads are 5.65 x 5.65 for the Arri MB20, though, so I can push them around the image more.

Did Graeme say anything at the beginning of the party about build 16? I heard that he did, but I got there late.

I heard what he said.

Someone asked something like, "Can you say anything about build 16?"

Graeme paused and then politely said, "No."

He looked slightly apologetic and then sat down.

:)
