  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The End of The World Through UHDTV's Window.

Hmm,
That must be all acting. No chance that a person would be able to walk into the room and not see that there is absolutely no paralax change in the window when they move around within the room. To me it makes LG look a bit dumb. It's kind of the same problem when people try to do commercials showing how good HD look in SD television.. :)
.

I did see a large format backlit sign this weekend that for a moment tricked me into thinking it was a window. It was the first example of ultra high resolution standing out to me as impressive. It looked 3D there was so much resolution. But this is fake as fake can be and I agree just makes them look stupid.

Dont forget about sound ...
Good audio can move your imersion more than you can wish :)

while i agree it is probably fake.... I'm sure, given the fact that the people were in a stressful job interview scenario (i think?), i bet at least 10 of 100 people wouldn't notice the parallax issue before they sat down, at which point it would seem like a natural view. They would be trying their best to maintain eye contact with the guy.

This could have been a really good idea, but it turned out so obviously fake that it ruined it.
I'm reminded of the 1895 Lumiere film that showed a train coming towards the camera. As shown in Scorcese's Hugo, the audiences of the time freaked out and ran out of the theater. I could believe that from over 100 years ago, but today, I think most people would say, "hey, what's that movie on the monitor on the wall?"
