  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

"The Clutch" Shoulder Rig

I'm definitely interested. Looks like it's evolved a bit since NAB last year. I'll have to check it out before I plunk down the $5K for a shoulder rig when I already have other solutions here. It looks very sexy, though..

Does anyone know the weight of the rig? On the website they say "LIMITED AVAILABILITY", does this mean this that in the next few days the offer will be gone?

I'm interested but I wonder if there will be a cheaper alternative from RED as there will be many Epic-S and Scarlet users that won't want to pay half the price of their camera for a rig and the old Base Production Pack does not work with the Epic and Scarlet.

I'm trying to figure out what is really included. Looking at the specs and the pictures, I'm a bit confused. There are pictures that looked like parts of the Bomb EVF swivel, but I'm not sure what they are. What are the "camera glide" parts? What are the accessory attachment brackets? Will any of these things be available á la carte, or is the only way they'll be available? Is the top mount only available in this package? And most importantly, is the rod spacing right to make standard 19mm accessories work with Epic? I assume that is the case, but there is nothing in the specs that address that. Is there any plan for 60mm lightweight rod systems? or is that a dead system with Epic? Is the RED ONE Riser Plate or EPIC Plate available? i can't find them, and they don't seem to be included.

I love the look of this system, and I have a lot of faith that the designers at Red have really thought it through, but there's an awful lot I can't figure out from the listing. Help?

sigh, i've already spent all my money on bunch of other things in preparation for an Epic...... ah wells, looks wicked:-)

There is an itemized list right on the page where you can click on each item and see what that part is.

I've done that, but what is a camera glide? and why are there three of them? And how does an accessory attachment bracket work? What can it hold? Where does it attach to the rig? (the picture is really small on a 17" Macbook Pro).

Any plans for a 15mm universal mount?

Edit: I know this is a stand alone system so it shouldn't matter, but my OCD wants everything I own to be 15mm...

OK, I just saw the R1 riser plate has been listed. It looks like these bits are not appearing in the store all at once. I'll wait a bit and see what develops.

EPIC mounting plate is on that list as included, yes. Second bullet point...

Got it. Thanks Brent. (I didn't understand that "EPIC Plate" and "Mounting Plate [EPIC]" were the same thing.)

I also just discovered that i could make the three principal pictures much larger by changing them then clicking on the changed pic. Is there any way that can be done with the detail pics for the bulleted items?
