Translation: We are the red team!

I remember several years ago talking to my partners and saying there is this new camera called the Red One and we only need 100 dollars to get on the list. We didn't know what we were doing when we put 100 dollars down on number 291, we still don't know what we are doing now with our Epic-X, but we have had more fun than we deserve.

Best hundred dollars we ever spent.

Wow! Its you, from the Shaft!

Love your work BTW!
Didn't know you used these forums!

All in!

Keep pushing the envelope and we'll follow. Thx!

This time... At this moment in time... I own a camera (actually more than one) that is the same camera upon which the biggest Hollywood movies are produced. You have no idea how long I've waited for this to happen and how excited I was when my first EPIC arrived.

Michael Cioni said it best when, during REDucation, he proclaimed "RED has leveled the playing field... and removed "class" barriers... now most everyone can participate."

I'm a nobody. But I am very happy. And I am participating!

Holding on tight on the rollercoaster!

And also I have very bad feelings about upcoming 4K DSLR if it something like JVCHMQ10 (ugliest and useless camera ever exist) I'll be really disappointed.
Real goal for Canon - clear Full HD on cameras like C300 for the fraction of its price. Even C300 looks image looks blurry and up-scaled.

Canon has a new cinema camera planned, we don't know if it is the cheaper fixed version of the c300, but they have a raw video codec patent, and intend to do 4k. However, there is great news (by the way HMQ10, that is why a fixed 4k s16/2/3rds could have smashed that market):

We know that Red is panning a 3d feature for their single lens cameras, and new sensor (probably new camera to go with it). Jim loves to hint, and matchbox sized 5k camera has not been delivered yet, so maybe they have finished a asci miniaturization project on some new chip process allowing this (or new programmable system).

So let's speculate, what is the actual real big Red secret Jim is hinting at, to be released in NAB: 3D, dragon, 5k match box sized camera/head, redray, red kaser projector?

Snake oil times ten.

Jim

Reminds me of the edges of ancient maps: Here lie dragons. I suppose dragons *are* snakes times ten.
It doesn't get interesting until you've sailed past the end of the map. Thanks for proving that.

Oh please gives us a crazy 4k 3D Laser Projector ... I need it for my color grading room
See You @ NAB

apart from the wonderful and sometimes stubborn hardware you guys make; I really like
this community..

strange thing is; since I bought a red [after lots of research] it only got worse..

never been on a forum this much since my days behind the good ole green CRT linux days of elm and pine
when I used to stalk the alt.rec.stagecraft newsgroup (and that is way way back..)

and it reminds me lots about that newsgroup back then.. the willingness to share, teach, think along and help!
feels like I learn something everyday just by reading posts here. lots of synergy here

thanks for that
