While others get discouraged with the ups and downs, you keep bravely crossing the divides.
Long live Jannard's leadership team.

As a long time reduesr and now Scarlet owner, I thank you for all the work and effort that has been put into creating such a wonderful device at such low costs and keeping in the US. Not only for the great, amazing products, but also for the hard working staff and A+ service and user support.

Keep RED design / engineering / marketing raw and untamed . . . while evolving the manufacturing, operations and support to world class perfection . . . but you knew that

...(cut)...

So the secret is out. Choose your partner. Choose the one that leads with their chin or choose the others that follow only because they were forced to.

We are not perfect. But we are brave. We believe that everything must get bigger in presentation. And smaller in size. And cheaper. And better.

Thanks for your support. It keeps us going...

Jim
We will have quite a show for NAB this year. You probably don't want to miss it. Snake oil times ten.

Jim

Where do I stand? - usually somewhere in Geneva, Switzerland, when I'm not shooting elsewhere.
Where do I stand? - usually nearby Red One #500, Epic-X #296 or Scarlet-X #730, and when I'm not, I'm probably quite close to a RedRocket...
I however don't get to stand in Vegas very often. Please don't forget there's a whole world out there, and a BIG show, second to the NAB only, in Amsterdam every september, and I do stand there occasionnally... in september usually. I hope to see Red there again ;-)

Cheers,
Damien

:-)

I guess it was more of a confession.

Jim

I like these kind of confessions. Because they do suggest that something's cooking.
I'm all in. Do something even more unbelievable with my money ;)

Can't wait for NAB, last year I thought I might be able to buy a 2/3 Scarlet (even though I wanted an Epic-S). This time around I already have my dream camera Scarlet-X in possession and I can't wait to meet and greet with Jim and Jarred and everyone else once again. And of course, I can't wait to see that magical bottle of Red Snake Oil ;)

With you all the way. It's been the most insane fun I've ever had in my field to associate with you and your team of rockstars in such a unique way. Can't wait to see you all at NAB!

I remember several years ago talking to my partners and saying there is this new camera called the Red One and we only need 100 dollars to get on the list. We didn't know what we were doing when we put 100 dollars down on number 291, we still don't know what we are doing now with our Epic-X, but we have had more fun than we deserve.

Best hundred dollars we ever spent.

i just shot my first short film in a few years on the epic with anamorphics and i cannot praise the camera enough with how it worked on set and the images it produced. i cant stop smiling as i review the footage for the edit. cant wait to see what's next and am now seriously considering the investment of my own.

I think this is an interesting comment from Jim. I reckon Canon are on the verge of releasing a 4K DSLR either at NAB
or within the year. How good or bad it will be remains to be seen but rumors are it will record to CF cards in a Canon version of Raw code.
Price wise it's supposed to be aimed at the Scarlet market (how true this is remains to be seen but Canon have announced on record they
are planning such a camera)
It seems like Red has pushed companies like Canon and JVC into upping their game which is great for the industry as a whole.

This reminds of of my favorite quote:

[h=3]Make no little plans[/h]
Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work, remembering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will never die, but long after we are gone will be a living thing, asserting itself with ever-growing insistency. Remember that our sons and grandsons are going to do things that would stagger us. Let your watchword be order and your beacon beauty. Think big. Daniel Burnham, Chicago architect. (1846-1912)

And also I have very bad feelings about upcoming 4K DSLR if it something like JVCHMQ10 (ugliest and useless camera ever exist) I'll be really disappointed.
Real goal for Canon - clear Full HD on cameras like C300 for the fraction of its price. Even C300 looks image looks blurry and up-scaled.
