The Best Wireless HD Transmitter for under $500

Some of these posts are a little on the rude side. I love the info but can't you play nice? Professional edicate is so sweeeeet!

Agreed, but you should have seen it before Dan deleted most of his posts. MEOW!

Glad we got back on track though and started talking about the product.

Not sure if you meant Honduras (the country) or Hondurans (people like me). But rest assured both are amazing.

I looked at the DP6 you recommended and am also considering it as part of this wireless monitoring kit.

I wonder why the discountinued their 8'' model though?

A question about battery life: the simple Cannon battery you used in a few of the videos, how many hours can you get off that?

We use their old 8' model on every shoot - great people, great company, great support.

Can't I use an HDMI splitter and a little AA USB power pack? (For the USB model)

Dan, just curious. I thought you said you did not work for the company and were just posting because your a fan of the product...but in several posts you've now said "we..." and "I can put you on list..." No offense, but there is a big difference to me when reading people's opinions on a product between these two scenarios...

Dan,

Thanks for the post. We just spent an hour today on a conference call trying to brainstorm a solution for covering the Super Bowl and some of our segments. Dan's topic was a critical "missing link" to a particular application our client was trying to achieve. We now have some research to do based on this thread. It actually may make the difference between success and "what 'til next year".

From a personal perspective, I don't care if Dan works for the product's company or not. I think most everyone on this forum has enough experience in the business to do some due diligence and evaluate any product or software to see if it fits their particular need. I was getting a little confused by all the "noise" in this thread.

That's actually the only reason I logged in tonight instead of going to bed, was to figure out what my Reduser colleagues are doing, have used, or "know about". That's what makes this forum a million times better than alot of others on the net.

Happy Holidays and to all a good night!

Jack, I disagree, but that's par for the course on this thread. ;-)

I am quite busy working and don't always have time to do a ton of research on items especially if in a rush getting ready for a shoot. I absolutely do lean on my fellow RED using professionals as references for products. It makes a BIG difference if I can trust people who have unbiased opinions versus someone who might be working for a company or getting some type of kickback for having positive opinions on a product.

Kevin, actually you and I are saying the same thing. My due diligence point was in reference to the fact, I, personally, don't know anyone in our industry who has purchased or rented an item - "based solely on a brochure or sales pitch".

We too rely on Red professionals to help shortcut the investigation and research time for some of our projects. My point around product/company affiliation is in relation to the fact that plenty of Red vendors frequent and post on this forum. We take input from Optitek, Off Hollywood, and even Dan as it's given -- another valuable point of view from someone in the industry. It always up to our firm how we use that info.

Is there a battery solution for this product yet?

Several months ago I used a Tekkeon MP3450 battery pack with a Brite-View. Set the Tekkeon on +5V, works a long time.

If you wanted to use a camera battery, I'm sure Nebtek could hook you up.

Im sorry,, but i might be confused, does this take the RED non-standard HDMI signal, or does it need to be converted via and RedByte HDSDI-->HDMI ?

can you please clarify as its a little miss leading.

thank you
