  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thanks to 300...

It actually turned into a good thing that we got raided. The 300 turned into a team on a mission to help us get the word out. It was really impressive to see everyone step up to solve the problem.

My bet is that whoever targeted our system could not have realized that they actually helped us. I guess this is the definition of ironic.

Jim

You guys saved our ass!

heh heh and yes.. thank god for Scarletuser... they carried the load very well and it was great to camp out there for awhile.

Shows that the RED army is more of a FAMILY than anyone thought.

Yes big thanks!

I think that's probably the biggest purchase decision I've ever made based solely on a handful of 100 character text messages. :D

And to the DDOS attackers who caused the hour and a half long hair pulling nightmare to navigate the RED.com store and place a purchase before they were in back order for 4 months: :gun::emote_whack::beatdeadhorse5::violent5::emote_hanged::furious3:

It was exciting! On many forums everybody go to red.com and it is at dawn, everybody have been looking for twitter and then somebody write Here is somebody write I can't open What is sensor, bitrate, Price? and many answers: like Epic, 440, 14000 full package:)

Being there watching the Technology Announcement of the year almost derailed by . . . technology . . . was ironic and interesting. Jim went from web based announcement to wireless mic announcement to standing in front of the large crowd belting the message out with passion and intensity. Awesome and inspiring and makes me wonder why you, Jim, don't do way more public speaking. Next big announcement I say: You present raw and unplugged like tonight and let us Stream, Tweet, Blog the event to the world.

Maybe tonight was the start of the RED Spring Revolution!

Thanks to Mike Seymoure and Tonaci for there twittering, this was first class information.
I just woke up and this was the first thing I wanted to do.
Many thanks to Mike and Tonaci, their twitterfeeds saved our night!

Tonaci was great, kept me hitting the "more tweets" button quicker than I could read his posts and seeing his pix. Was on the phone talking with Lael Camak while it was going on and it was pretty funny, like watching fireworks. Ooohh, ahhhh, sort of thing.

Tonight was a night I will never forget. And I have had some pretty good moments. When I was spewing out the specs... I looked over to see who was busy on their iPhones and iPads. It was incredible. When I gave the price... everyone looked up, smiled, and then pushed the keys hard.

These are moments that one lives for...

Jim

You should host your next announcement on a public facebook page or something like that. Then you don't have to worry about databases overloading due to request overloads.

Anyways, great stuff.

Thanks to Tonaci's tweets and pictures I was able to go along the ride :)

I must say...when the camera was finally revealed I couldn't believe what I first saw! SCARLET-X has gone beyond any expectations I ever had about the SCARLET!! Again, you have made my dream camera come to life!!! :D Jim, RED...as much as the Scarlet-X - YOU ARE UNREAL!!!!!!! :D I can't wait to get my hands on this baby, I really can't!!!

FWIW, you surprised me, pleasantly. Price is still within reach. I will need to convince my S.O. that I need to click that button this weekend.

I'm pretty sure RED announcements are going to continue to break whatever they are announced on if its a dedicated space.

MUST USE ALL AVENUES OF MEDIA AT ONCE! SATURATE THE TUBES! XD

I wish to add my thanks to Mike Seymour , Tonaci Tran and Scarletuser incl. Jarred for posting/twittering. I tried for 45min trying to find a way in. Thanks to you guys, we got to have our information none the less. Awesome work! Still sad, that I couldn't show up! Wanted to be there so bad... couldn't manage to get out for these days. :( At least that way I could somewhat participate.

... my dearest congratulations from the heart.

This goes really deep ... (!)

+1, as well as http://twitter.com/#!/futuristfilm and, of course, Deanan and Graeme.

If it was possible, the whole sites down, following on Twitter thing just made the day (night) seem even more revolutionary. I had Endgadget, Avid and Lightworks open in tabs at the same time while I waited (in vane) for the Red sites to load.

The Canon launch just looked even more lame in comparison - huge launch, big names, seriously underwhelming and overpriced camera. Meanwhile Red are camped out in a tent, hurricane lamps swinging in the breeze, delivering the knockout blow through the agency of "The People". Can it really be a coincidence that one of the first Red lensed features was Che?

Viva la révolucion!

BTW, like many others, Scarlet-X is out of my budget but no complaints here. My goal is now set, I know how much I need and, by the time I get there, the Nikon mount will be ready for me.
