Hello lucky Scarlet users.
I started this thread so that everybody needing some "close-to-scientific" test to help with the buying decision could write his concerns.
Maybe some of you who actually got their scarlet could chime in and do these tests for us while we others eagerly wait?
Please write your requests in the same manner so that the testers know what you are looking for.

If you can, post a mood image of what kind of scene you are looking for.
something like this:

HDRx lowlight test

Subject: City Night scene with ambient lighting
Special Interest: Noise-reduction when using HDRx

Daniel,
I'm with you on the need for "close to scientific" tests
don't worry, they will come soon enough. just allow for Scarlet to build a critical mass out there, and people who do camera tests will get their hand on it and publish it online.

without any disrespect, I believe that most DPs (as talented as they may be) and camera owners, aren't really the best at conducting tests that are not project-specific.
nevertheless I almost always take a DP on camera tests, and when i don't i regret it.

as soon as our order arrives (ordered end Nov... so Jan-Feb? unless i get my hands on one sooner) i plan to do just that.
I'll make a note to check this thread before i do.

this is an odd format daniel, as it is really difficult to fulfill all the suggested parameters. and by that, i just mean it's WAY too complicated of a request. something like, "low light hdrx test - city street at night" would totally suffice. and if you really want a tree in there mention a tree. but you don't need to tell somebody how to expose a hypothetical scene... let them do the test.

science is collaboration, especially in this case. i'm going to suggest you modify your original post/format. leave the picture as a reference, that's good. but you need to simplify/synthesize the request.

I think many Scarlet owners will be performing similar tests. I have to do similar tests once I get the camera as it's part of what I do for clients as well as for my own education. Now getting professionals to hand over their R3Ds is another question entirely. I'll contribute some once I get the camera though.

I don't see how specific apertures are really going to play into this though.
