  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

TERADEK Cube/Bundle - Group Buy!

What Dual Channel wireless routers are Teradek testing/recommending?
In theory any simultaneous dual band (not dual channel) should work great. In practice we found the Dlink DIR 825 ($120 at Costco) works great. The Airport extreme also works, but the internal antennas does not have as much range.

Okay, I'm spent. But all good questions.

Let's extend till Monday midnight, and take another poll Tuesday. We're okay waiting a bit if you guys are. Not too long tho...places to go and people to see !

Sorry for the radio silence everyone,
was on a scout and screening all day...

Hopefully Nicol answered everyones questions and that the sale is being extended until monday midnight.

Also if you have ANY ordering problems please email: info@teradek.com and they will get you sorted out...

Jason

Also, whats the RED proxy recording software? IS it different to the standard recording software?

Ill be in for the Enc/Dec Combo bundle by the way. Come on 50 UNITS!!

Me too...

Good timing Mark! Its pretty hard to not be tipped over the edge its got timecode too. Would come in very, very handy.

Nicol, I'm very excited by this! And glad you decided to extend to Monday.. I just found the thread last night.. Consider me up for an HD-SDI bundle!

After months of talk, I'll finally get my grubby hands on one! Woot!!

ok, so my tally so far, based on what people have said in the thread (listed in the first post by name and # of units) is 41.

If everyone who has placed an order using the discount code for this sale diamondgrpbuy at http://store.teradek.com/ could PM me with their name and # of units ordered I can cross check it against what I have listed in the first post and what Teradek has received internally.
This is important as that will be the final tally used to decide the total and thus the discount.
There's 3 days left to finalize everything if you haven't already. If there are any issues ordering please email info@teradek.com and they will get you sorted out.

thanks everyone,

Jason

You guys won't be disappointed with the Cube.
I've been using the cube for a while and it has proved to be a good addition to the arsenal.
After using it for the last months it has been up to all sorts of locations inside and out. It did great everywhere.
For those of you that say it would be good only for a studio work. It is really easy to throw a router in with all your normal gear and plug it in.
We plug in big lights, monitors, ect... It's not hard to find a lunch box on most sets. Recently I have started using the receiver/decoder.
This is a great solution if you want to get keep all of the awesome options this thing gives you(Instant Dailies,hd image over wifi to anywhere on set), while throwing the receiver/decoder on a little handheld monitor to run around with as well.
The cube breathed new life into my Ipad.

Steve- yes the Cube does 1080 24p.
Its a little work horse.

Happy Holidays
Redusers,
Joshua Gitersonke

Ok so current tally is:
52 intended orders
19 orders confirmed by PM to me

if you have ordered and not PM'd me please do ASAP. If you have not ordered please do ASAP as the discount closes tonight at midnight.

remember to email info@teradek.com if you are having any issues ordering on their online store.

thanks all,
Jason

Nearly missed this thread - glad that there is an extension - allows me to ask an important question or two that would affect my possible use / purchase:

Nichol;
I am tempted to purchase an encoder or two immediately - the iPad WiFi application looks like it would suit my needs over the next couple of months. That alone would make the purchase worthwhile

However, I have projects lined up later in the year where I would be looking at some live multicam shoots plugged into an HDSDI switcher. That will require a decoder of course..
That said, have you considered or are you already planning on manufacturing a single rack unit with multiple HDSDI decoders installed?

If you are considering such a product, perhaps an advanced version that could reclock the signal to synchronize any latency issues between multiple cameras...

Question 2: Does the current latency vary or drift between encoders or is it consistent enough to work a 3D setup?
