OK, so a odd issue using the Bolt DSMC2 first time this week. Not mine, but a rental one, but either way an odd issue came up.

The videofeed from the Bolt DSMC2, and its the same if we use only the HDMI out, looks like it has tons of sharpness to it. On the HD-SDI on the other hand it looks like it should. (This was using a Gemini btw)
(Monitoring sharpness is at 0%, so it should not be that.)

Anybody have any idea what could be the issue with this?

Has anyone had any issues with video artifacts and dropouts at distances as close as 15-20 feet with clear line of site? The product advertises itself as Transmit pristine 1080p60 wireless video instantly to receivers up to 500 ft. away. so I am really shocked at the (lack of) quality I'm seeing. I can't imagine what I am seeing is proper. When focus assist is on, the artifacts are very distracting.

I have these two pieces for a cord free setup:

I do mostly studio shooting and the only time i see dropouts are when transitioning to 1:1 on red, but thats not really a Bolt issue. Have never noticed any artifacting.

Did you ever upgrade the firmware? I haven't checked that yet (i'm using whatever it shipped with).

I took my setup to Teradek and it worked great there. I still have some problems at home, I am wondering if it is my mesh wifi setup or some other interference. I did get some better performance after upgrading the firmware on the monitor as well.

I ordered this kit. I am not concerned about losing the EVF, I never use one. I'm more likely to want the now extra SDI port for on camera monitors or even a second TX. I considered the Vaxis ( I have a Thor unit that I like a lot) but didn't feel good about double v-mounts and like the set up of the Teradek more.

Is anyone having issues with the 500 just not working when mounted on a gimbal? We had it installed on our handheld Gemini but want it over on the dragon that lives in the Movi pro gimbal. Once on that rig. It stops transmitting. We’ve tried both camera with the Tx on the gimbal and off and it always works off but never on the gimbal. Is there some strange interference going on or what?

I should add that I’m on the side of a mountain All week with some special forces folks about to lay waste to an area and would really love to have playback.

Whats the power situation? My initial guess is there just isn't enough juice going through to it.

Keep in mind, if your body is blocking the antennas that's going to cause some interference issues as well.

I use mine on the movi pro all the time without any issues.
