What are people’s thoughts on the Teradek Bolt 4K LT 750 3G-SDI/HDMI Wireless Transmitter and Receiver Kit. Is this best in class? Is there a better system I should be considering?

Well...

Depends on the camera and if you need 4K

If you’re sending 4K HDMI this will send 4K.

3G Sdi will not carry 4K. Right ?

What camera are you using ?

What range do you need?

Is 4K Sdi a need now or in your future ?

You can get a Paralinx Tomahawk for nothing these days.

Personally, I want a 4K SDI H.265 pipeline capable WiFi based transmitter with a sub 20ms glass to glass Sdi / hdmi decoder box, which iPhones and iPads can decode at sub 40ms latency.

Something like a Teradek Swerv2 4K...

I don’t really need 4K. 500 feet is probably long enough. Yes, only hdmi has 4K, Sdi does not. This system seemed like a good value but I have seen sub $1,000 systems that would fit my needs if the quality is there.

I'm using the bigger brother Bolt 4K SDI and I have to say the video quality is very noticeably higher quality. I did some frame capture and diffs on the images to confirm my suspicions. As far as I know these are the same general chipset and encoder.

Decent value proposition here...

Although...

I might be inclined personally to buy this transmitter:

And this receiver:

Seems like a viable way to get 4K SDI out of a Komodo and pipe it to a 4K input on a onset client monitor or even like an LG OLED TV...

Seemingly lower frustration way of being future resistant and having interoperability with other ‘deks of the 4K variety for future
