  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

TEAM RED....

...The RED team is complete. We don't have a few of the best horses in our stable..... we have all the best.

We have the best product, and by far the best customers.

We are not a scam. We are not "beta". We are here. Now.

We challenge the industry to respond.

Please.

Dont take my comment as negative, but I think the number comparisons are not justified.

In terms of volume and the variety of products produced I see what you are getting at.
However, in terms of quality and technology, I believe this is where the strength of Red's smaller army shines.
Also remember that Red isn't playing the incremental upgrade game either as most larger companies do.
Beyond Red's more expensive systems, I think we'll see really what a smaller team can produce when it comes to Scarlet and the effect on a market that those larger companies play in.
None of the "big five" large volume consumer companies are making anything like Red's technology. In fact, currently, none of them are even close.
Even the higher end camera manufacturers are not really playing the same game. Certainly not at the price point of Epic and the Red One.
Red is also the new kid on the block. Depending on Scarlet's price, features, and success I would say it could be even more impressive that a team of 400 produced a product that may trounce giants.
But time will tell that story.

I believe these are more of the bullet points to be hit when we are talking about Red, their small team, and what they have accomplished.

There are 360,000 employees at Panasonic, 170,000 at Sony and 140,000 in the Japanese Army.

There are only 400 employees at RED.

The goal in 2005 was to build the best camera in the world.

In 2011, we succeeded.

EPIC was conceived, designed, prototyped, and manufactured in California. Not Germany. Not Japan. Not China.

It is the 1st time that the best camera in the world has been made in the USA in over 100 years. By a team of 400. Not 100's of thousands.

We are very proud to be shooting the biggest budget movies this year.. as well as the smallest.

Just a few...

Spiderman 4
The Hobbit
Prometheus
Contagion
The Muppet Movie
Oz
Elysium
Jack the Giant Killer
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
The Great Gatsby
Underworld 4
I hate you, Dad.

Then add the best fashion photographers in the world shooting covers for Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, W, Interview, Esquire, Vanity Fair... and a ton of others.

The best movies and the best stills... same camera. Never done before in the history of cameras.

The RED team is complete. We don't have a few of the best horses in our stable..... we have all the best.

I do care about Quality rather than Quantity,
400 employees provide a professional cameras useful for Feature Film, TV commercial, TV Drama, Documentary...
400 employees provide a dream cameras for most of DOPS they might never think they have change to own one, but the dream comes truth, cos of Red...
400 employees were working hard for their customers
400 employees have good boss like you - Mr. Jim
400 employees servicing the whole world
You guys listening the feedback from most of users and update plus correcting like a rocket...

Saw Dino asked where I was in the crowd earlier here in the thread. we were teaching our EPIC class in Hollywood on the same day as this, so me and a few of the key members of our team (Travis, Brian H, Bre, Dan, Brian C) and a few others working with us on the class had to miss the fun down in OC going on at the same time - was hard not to be there, but we were all there in Spirit :-) Seeing and feeling the level of excitement here from all the comments and the visual of the team at HQ is really inspiring and great fun! Truly fantastic to see how far we've come in such a short time, and the the extraordinary motivation of our team is still building each and every day.

Honored to be a part of that team.

Here's the EPIC REDucation group in action that day at the studio while most of the RED gang was down south, shot with an EPIC of course :-)

RED REVOLUTION....GO RED TEAM... GO GET THEM....

I've been in the industry for 20years. I've seen it all come and go.

What the folks at RED are doing is here to stay. I'm backing it 100%. Great Product. Great service and most of all, the comittment to innovate!!

You don't get anywhere in life without sticking your neck out.

I'm definitely drinking the RED kool aid.

See the great tour dressed in gray with a gray hat in the far left? That is Jarred standing tall... Very tall that is... ;)

He reminds me of my brother in law. Linebacker size. Kindest guy you ever met. Unless you try to f*ck with him*. Then prepare to run. FAST.

* never tried never will.

now we're talking!

i have been around for a long time with this company and pushed many many times to get stuff delivered, fixed, shipped, purchased, made and adjusted and never have i heard or read the word, (wait for it)....

NO....this is a company of YES WE CAN!

I can not in 10,000 words describe all that has transpired since that fateful day in april of 2006 to me and i only know 1/1000th of what goes on in the OC and now in Hollywood and beyond.

these 400+ people are truly dedicated to making us happy. i know, as i have pushed them, many many of them to the limit on many occasions and they consistently exceed my wildest expectations!

I challenge anyone to name a company in the history of companies that has done more for their customers and future customers than RDC.

It started with JIM and a dream, and Ted was the next call...glad you chimed in TED to tell us where you were for this pic...

thanks all including all of you on the forum who have taught me a lot and have inspired better products to come out of red.

dino

i want to add that i am currently on a feature where we have 9 epics, we shoot about 2TB a day and have for 29 days averaging 14 hours a day. not one time have we had a problem with any of these cameras! they have performed perfectly! thank you!

What do you think the Oakley-per-Capita value is in that crowd?

Heh heh Heh - I'd love to see how fast Jarred can run in those flipflops ;-) Wouldn't want to piss him off to get him running, though :-D
