  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Taylor Swift - Blank Space music video, shot with Dragons and the Ronin.

does anyone know if the VFX reel for this video is still online anymore? it used to be on Vimeo but has since been taken down : (
 
A little update on the little video that could...

Yesterday Blank Space rose to the #4 position on YouTube's All-Time most viewed Top 100 videos... As of this writing it's at 980 million views and is on paced to be the 4th online video ever to crack the 1 billion view threshold by this weekend. Pretty crazy, especially in the time frame it has achieved this in.
 
Christopher, I really love your work on these recent Taylor Swift videos.

What shooting mode are you using on Epic Dragon - 6KANA 6:5 to get the full sensor height?

Just received my ana lenses and trying to get my head around all the crazy aspect ratios. Any snippets of wisdom would be massively appreciated!

No.4 on YT's most viewed videos is quite a feat, congrats!

Well, 1 Billion + 504,000 at the moment, but who's counting!?

Congratulations man. It's insane how fast this has climbed. Everything really came together for this video.
 
Thanks Phil, yea it's a perfect storm of ingredients!

Oddly enough, if you source the video directly through Vevo, they have it tallied up to 1 billion, 12 million and change... Not sure why the YouTube count is always less, but I go off that count just to be pragmatic.
 
For those of you that might not have caught this.MTV doesn't include in the ceremony or televise any technical awared winners, even the directors of the "videos" they are celebrating at the Video Music Awards show... But Taylor is a total class act and brought Joseph Kahn on stage with her for one of the 2 wins Blank Space recevied last night.

Look for the shout out to Jarred!

What does 1billion views translate to in youtube revenue? I know it's fuzzy math, but 1 to 3 million bucks? It's good to see that music videos can make the labels/artist some money back.. That can only mean good things for us that crew on music videos.

Totally agree. I have to imagine Youtube revenue is encouraging at least some additional investment in music videos by artists of all shapes and sizes. Just knowing you may be able to recoup some of your costs is a new, and welcome development.

Well Blank Space just crossed into the #2 position of all time views on YouTube (1.23 billion views and counting)... It also ranks as the #1 video of all time on Vevo. Not too shabby! Now just another 1.2 billion views to take down Gangnam Style.... Come on swifties (and a few Redusers), you can do it!
