Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone has got this new lens on an Epic yet??

My main question is around coverage, and the throw of the focus ring for manual focusing.

Great range for price and performance on still cameras has been excellent for the dollar spend - interested to hear of anyones experiences with it.

cheers
wes

seems to be a great lens...unfortunately red does not have the greatest record supporting tamron IS....the 24-70 comes to mind...

I am also wondering if anyone has got this new lens on an Epic.

Considering this lens, seems like a great lens for the bucks.

This lens will not work at all at this moment? One of the best wildlife photographers, lives close by me, and he has e deal with Tamron and he is testing the lens as we speak. I can borrow the lens and test it, but if it does not work at all? There is no point.

Or I could test it with my Canon 5D, but that is not what I intend to do if I acquire the lens.

Lens just in.

In short
- it works - iris control works, all data lens length etc works
- built quality feels good - it aint a canon l but it's ain't priced that way either
- focus ring feels really smooth - super sensitive at the long end, but no surprise

2k at 600mm is fun (bring on VR support)
will post more when we get time to shoot with it

Looks nice and really cool that it works already!

Do you think it is okay to shoot without lens support? Looks like you have exactly the rig I usually run around with.

Ok. I have borrowed the lens now, and I will be out one week shooting a snowboard/ski short documentaryish thing.
Looking forward to test it out.

This lens in in my list, I do wildlife and my budgect is low, I would appreciate the extra 100mm that it does have compared with my sigma 50-500mm, not the ideal lens but id it behave like the 50-500mm its perfect for low budgect projects in wildlife...

Wouldn't it be great if the new Tamron 150-600mm was available in a cinema housing with a PL mount? ;-)

Matthew, have you played with this lens? Is it worthy of that? (this is a question, not a statement) If it is, I'd be excited.

btw - thanks for the lens advice recently, I haven't forgot about following up, just trying to figure a few more things on my end first.
