  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

oh man i would do anything to work in that studio, Sounds like a very solid setup and with all that equpiment theres guna be nothing you cant do. 10 red1s and 10 epics! MAN U CRAZY!!!! Best of luck to you.

Haha, well lots of jobs will be available soon if everything goes to plan,

BUT: it is not 10 RED ONE cameras and 10 EPIC cameras . is 10 RED ONE cameras which will be traded in for 10 EPIC cameras :thumbsup:
 
Ketch, that is awesome man! It's been a while since I've heard what you're up to (I've been too busy to spend as much time as I would like on Reduser)... anyhow this is great news! I wish you the best of luck and keep the updates coming. Hope to swing by and check it out someday.

oh ok haha, i was wonderin why u would have 10 each.....hes got to have a reason for that.... What kind of qualifications are you looking for to employ ppl? I cant say i have to much experience but it would give me a good idea where to start off if you could just list some things. I really enjoy editing so fcp experience is a must I also really enjoy workin out in the field, camera work. Any opinions from you would be greatly appreciated.

At the moment I'm not starting with any employement ass of yet, as we prefer to wait and make sure everything is in place and ready to go, then there will be time as we set up the place with the interior designing, set iup of the massive 4K Cinema area, Editing rooms and so on, as well as possible wait on the arrival of all gear, but qualifications will be listed in detail in an other post that I will make in the JOBS section, and will offer a LOG IN in our website as to have every one there in our files, and have their Full credentials in our system plus their demo Reels as well so that our clients too can log in and see their info and choose upon their hiring for any given job.


KETCHFRAME must have a base line of employees but most of the work force will be per job assignment basis, in durations any were from few days to several months, again depending on job requirements.

We have discussed this, and we tough that with 10 full sets, will be very unlikely to use them al at once, and have plenty of back up, for both cameras, gear and lenses, PLUS don't forget.. RED RANCH will be opening its doors literally few streets down from us :yesnod:

I know this is short notice but Pacific Title & Art Studio, Inc. in selling off all their post production gear on the 22nd , 90 years worth and they may have a few digital post tools you could use. Thanks Ken, and thanks for the link and info, will check them out, even so all electronics will be purchased NEW, as I will have nothing less then the latest and more advance technology available, as to offer the best services.

We have been discussing the possibility to add a ARRILASER but I strongly wish to stay an all Digital facility , however if we do get a Film Laser, it will be the new ARRILASER 2, which works in 16 bit and it provides writing speeds of 1.3f/s faster then the current one when writing 4K, as I say technology is an important factor and for a starting company such as it is the case for KETCHFRAME, we must be at the very top of it, and provide our clients and our selves with the best and most advance tool as available if we want our Professional team to deliver the very best they can.

HAHA!! You know that I have loved your Sprinter + Scratch System since the first time we worked on GARBO, and I find the Diesel engine with Hybrid and Biofuel to be a great vehicle for the company, beside been comfortable, specious and easy to travel in, while offering tone of customizations.
 
Good luck with everything there Ketch, sounds like a very ambitious project. That said, and with such a budget, maybe you could squeeze in some POST heavy irons like FLAME or SMOKE (last time I checked i believe there was a promotion going on where you could get a smoke/Lustre combo for half price me thinks), on the DI side, maybe a Pablo, Lustre or Baselight would be a great hero suite for those client supervised sessions? I would recommend some monitors, but since ur going to be grading on the Sony's 4K ones, i guess all color decisions will be based on FP and not on monitors. Do remember to get some color management tools in there as well for QC.

On a side note, I didn't see anything in your list to deal with deliverables, you know, Digibetas, d5's, SR's and the like, nor any infrastructure for video signal management...

Tons of luck, looking forward to seeing pics of the buildout and maybe a pic with all the camera gear laid out (like those they do at weapon shows with the jet fighters?)

Thanks Frank, some of the items are not listed as they are a bit out of my realm of knowledge and will be taken care of one of our assistants in the setting up process and Advisors for each field will be hired to do the complete installation and final List of goods.

Count on the details accounts of the process both by Photos and videos.
 
Hahaha!Ketch!clearly like minds here, just saw the job posting and now I think I see where your going with it, same almost as I wanted but clearly even bigger in a shorter space of time. Gotta say...it's going to be a wicked project to see come to life at the end...
