We wrapped our feature last night and the sync cable for timecode/audio is not coming out. The lemo wont release.

We tried using pliers and reconstructing it but something must have bent inside of it during production (it lived on the camera for four weeks).

Any thoughts on what I can do? The camera still functions but I would prefer to not have this in it.

Lemos lock by tiny hooks/prongs which retract when the outer sleeve is pulled. If it's stuck, then the prongs aren't fully retracting, or are damaged and/or the sleeve isn't pulling back fully, or the connector is distorted in some way (slightly bent or crushed).

Either way, the only way to get it out is to pull harder on the outer sleeve (ideally without crushing the sleeve) - straight back along the connector axis with no lateral pressure. This may well damage the prongs and/or sleeve (if they weren't before), so be careful if reusing the shell. After getting it out, ideally you should replace the outer Lemo shell.

Using specialised pliers like this may help.

Make sure to secure the camera from moving/flying off a workbench as the connector may well release very suddenly!

Push in on the cord while pulling out on th sleeve.

Sound like you might never have released the lemo before even once from the camera?
I find it simple enough to do.... but yeah, I could see how maybe it is counter initiative to someone who hasn't used this lemo connection before? Perhaps before trying to brute force it out, just tap the shoulder of a friendly sound mixer to see if they have the knack to gently get it out like normal.
