  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Looking into how to safely and cheaply have clients on set or off set monitor.

For small commercial shoots I usually have wireless teradek or 50ft SDI to my Atomos Sumo 19M production monitor on a stand and usually everyone huddles around it. But what would be a good option to stream to everyone's phone?

My current idea with what I have is to loop HDMI out from my Atomos Production monitor to my laptop with my cam-link hdmi capture stick. Then Zoom call on the local wifi network of the location. Then everyone else on set can watch a live stream on their phones with Zoom.

But anyone know a better way especially if I am out side with out access to a wifi.

Might want to consider setting up your own local area WiFi mesh network. We cover an acre at home over three buildings with three EERO nodes, cheap at $99 each and very easy to set up. Add a low cost IP streaming encoder with a USB-WiFi dongle or Ethernet cable connected to one of the EERO's and you are good to go. Web streaming encoder typically has about 200ms latency, but that is better than ZOOM on a laptop. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/eero-a...i-system-3-pack-white/6375348.p?skuId=6375348

Another approach with potential lower latency is an NDI IP encoder networked to a laptop running OBS Studio software for streaming to phones. Computers on the network can run a free NDI monitor app that has lower latency than H.264 encoding.

The Magewell encoders are available from B&H.

We are working on a solution.

Vlock to Vlock module sdi in and loop trough and then a usb3c hanging out to android from there. Snug fit on the back of any camera with as little gack as possible. Prototype for now but the functionality is solid and I think price vice it will be lower than pretty much any wireless system.
Nice to be able to have camera as a zoom feed or such with audio and all with no cables or other disturbing gear.

Wish there was a Iphone solution but thats more difficult. But it can stream to multiple iphones and such and a android phone does not cost much. The idea was to use it with my hydrogen but sadly I wired it wrong at one time and tosted it.
