  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

STORM by The Foundry

$375 Hummm...
Best Bargain

Storm is probably pretty awsome.

Fun. Was @ IBC 2008, and most things I dreamt of back then hits the streets this year.

Revolutions move rapid in retrospect... -:)

Nice price adjustment. And a couple months free trial. Looks like it has evolved quite a bit since NAB. Can't wait to take it for a test drive!

All I can say is that the folks at the foundry really get it. I use Nuke regularly, and while it isn't the easiest tool the learn, it's the smartest to work with. There's a reason that Disney, ILM, Sony, etc have all picked it up after the death of Shake by apple.

It's great to sit down to a tool that is well thought out and purpose built, especially in comparison to some dumbed down interfaces we have to use. The other thing that is great about the foundry is that they provide some much needed innovation to an industry that seems to be more and more consolidated every day. (Autodesk, Adobe)

If the foundry makes it, I'll probably like it.

I'll buy that. No question.

good good.

The idea is STORM is going to be fully commercial software to provide professional jobs. REDCINE-X would remain for testing the new features of RED's new features, then STORM would be aiming to provide stable yet most advanced RAW workflow.

Dont think just because the support is not currently listed it will not come. The Foundry team is great to work with and having worked with them very early on with Storm they are aware of alot of what the end user would like.
If you are at IBC come by the booth and say Hi Ted will be there I will be as well and some other Storm dev people.
Storm announcements for IBC are just a glimpse of yet another tool in the arsenal The Foundry are giving us along side Nuke and all the HPC technology coming out.

At that price, if it works like it looks like it will, I can't imagine not buying it...

Is there any chance that foundry will support secondary CC ?
