Fellas There Is Hope for Stolen Gear

STILL BEAUTIFUL AFTER ALL THESE YEARS: A RED FEEL GOOD STORY
December 31, 2013: Thieves kick in the back door of my home in Las Vegas and steal my beloved Red Scarlet #01624 (with my 50mm Zeiss Super Speed MKII attached)
They make attempts to sell it locally (not knowing how close knit the RED community is). I was nearly able to find it back then but no luck.
Over the years, the camera (with lens still attached) has popped up all over the place online (Miami, Atlanta, New York, Detroit, Craigslist, OfferUp etc.).
Fast forward to January 1, 2020, while searching eBay for lenses, I see my Super Speed listed. "How do I know it mine you ask?" Well my friends let me tell ya, these geniuses didn't even know that the lens was removable. Hahaha. Yes, this damn thing was still completely intact just as it was the night it was stolen. I add myself to the list of 7 people currently watching the item.
They initially had it listed with a starting bid of $12K. 2 days later, price drops to $10K, 1 day later (now January 5th) I get an eBay message. The seller wants to offer me the Super Speed at a special price of $8500. I send them a message asking about a possible face to face meeting to test the lens "just to make sure its in good working condition" before purchasing.
Long story short, I was able to get them to agree to meet a friend of mine (under the guise the he was actually me) in Los Angeles at a local rental house on January 7. Still thinking they would only have the lens, (because why on earth would it still be on the camera?) Low and behold, this guy shows up with a huge camera case with my camera inside. HE DIDN'T KNOW IT CAME OFF THE CAMERA.
I'm on the phone from the parking lot as I hear my friend say, "Oh nice and you brought a camera to test in on too". Now I'm stoked. I walk in and there they are. I grab the camera, check the Serial Number and sure enough it's mine (which I already knew).
Guy puts up a BS verbal fight, about how he's got a bunch of REDs and he puts them to work, blah blah blah. Knew absolutely nothing about the camera or lens.
In the end, camera is in Burbank Police possession now and I should have her back any day now. Not sure what my options are for a possible upgrade after all these years of being stolen but we'll see. This was my 1st of the 6 Reds I've owned, still can't believe this story. LOL.

Stolen Red Epic-W Helium in Los Angeles, CA. Serial number is E-W #008917), it was in a Tilta DSMC2 cage with top handle, and had a lot of accessories - 7" touch screen, display cables, 4x anton bauer 150 batteries (gold mount), 2x 480 GB mini mags. Came in 2 pelican cases, one large, one medium sized.

My apologies for pointing out the only relevant information on the Red website that indicates the existence of a privately kept database of stolen gear, as you requested.

B&H and Adorama has been selling them in the 16-18 range so private party I'd say 14-15 body only.
