  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Steadicam Group-buyers: Accessories

I think RR hit a home run with their Microremote. I like the idea behind the finger-wheel accessory too. Being able to pull your own focus with your finger without taking your hand off the grip when you go shoulder-mounted in run-n-gun situations... look pretty awesome!

redrockmicro Wireless Bundle - Price: $2,385.00 , this seems like the best choice. Good price, good performance. As far as I saw from this product videos and videos of other wireless FF - this one - the redrockmicro seems to have better response, lower latency. What's the disadvantage of this system compared to a 6000 $ or more system ?

I don't think you can upgrade to zoom and/or iris motors can you? There's also Hocus Focus which is probably about the same price and I don't think they have a 30day wait time.

I like the finger focus thing too... not sure how pliable it'd be for most of my shooting though.

received my mk3 fiz set today, it's awesome...

that's more and more sounding like the one to go with, but there's very positive word on the new redrock micro. I would hold off before a real focus puller reviews it though.

I think waiting until NAB is though would be to go.

HDMI is good, but nor as strong as HDSDI.
Cables get broken very quick... so I guess the paralinx unit could be broken quite fast also...

For RTmotion, nothing to say, it is perfect, sometime the REC start/stop doesn't work the first time, but you push the button again and it work.

Cheers

Love to hear more about RT motion MK3. I've heard some glitches when they first shipped the units but since then it seems they have fixed most issues. Anyone in NY area has one to test it?

I put this together today. Works great!

Looks great David. How's the Lilliput monitor? Does it depend on the lens hood?

Hood is great, brightness is much better than I expected. The enclosure is setup to accept a v-mount or AB plate with no mods. I had an extra AB plate, installed and wired in 20 minutes. The coating on the screen is much more reflective than my TV Logic 5.6, but the brightness appears about the same.

Native res is 1024x600 and the scaling has stair stepping. For the price the thing is amazing. It is perfect for a hand held director monitor that will get destroyed in short order.

Can you post the link? There seems to be many different versions out there of the Lilliput monitors

Thanks

I suggest people have a look at the Lilliput 663/O since it has native 720P resolution. I ordered mine about a week ago. Will post my thoughts on it when I receive it. I had a previous Lilliput which served me well and I heard this model was quite good for the price as well. There apparently is a 663/S version with 3G-SDI as well. Though they advertise it, whether that is a true HD-SDI signal I cannot confirm. If anyone is interested here is the 663/O that I ordered:
