I just checked the Proline Red group buy payment page and it seems Paypal only has a single payment option for the whole package price.
For a pre-order (since it will take about 45days to start shipping the units) group buy item, I think it is fair to just make a deposit (10-25%) and pay the rest with the additional shipping cost when the unit is ready to ship.

I'm down with the deposit idea.

Are there pictures of this unit- red edition?

On my blog and on the steadicamproline.com website are many pictures of the T2000 rig. The T2000 REDuser edition will have some additional cables for RED cameras, a new handle design and a slightly easier to adjust battery plate angle. Otherwise, they are identical.

Thanks David for all you efforts in making this happen.
Wanted to ask a vest question, are they available in different sizes or one size fit all? I'm a stocky guy 6'4 270 lbs, will this be a very snug fit?

The vest can be made bigger. Best contact Luciano with your measurements.

About the vest. We can do it bigger, it's not a problem

Thanks for you hard work David! is there any update from luciano about the payment plan system?

Luciano wrote me that a deposit option is not possible, but that he's checking with paypal about the installments (which would be more or less like a deposit, since you can always get your money back from paypal):

I thought [the monthly installments option] was already set. I'm calling Paypal to check why it isn't working.

So when we go to buy does the transaction happen on the spot? Or does the money get withdrawn once the unit ships in 45 days?

AFAIK, the money gets transferred to paypal right now (or when 60 orders came in... have to check it). If the group buy fails (less than 60 orders), the orders get canceled and paypal refunds all the money. You can check paypal's refund policy.

The shipping costs can either be paid by yourself at the shipping company or you pay via paypal to ProLine, once the rig is ready to ship.

Does anyone know the measurement of the rig collapsed for storage? I am looking into a soft case for myself and have not been able to get any good estimates so far.

ProLine can't offer monthly installments other than Bill me later or other credit card services, since they would need to finance the production of all the rigs out of their own pocket. The price we got is the manufacturing price. It's still profitable for them, since it's of course a huge advertisement if many redusers use ProLine rigs and spread the word of it's quality. Again, they plan on starting to produce also other camera and steadicam accessories and need a good reputation among redusers.

For US citizens, there is Bill Me Later as an option. The rest of the world can use an installments plan with their credit card company. It's probably different for every country, so you would have to call your bank for more information.

If you want to pay with a credit card or Bill Me Later, you have to do the following steps:

Check out
click on "Don't have a PayPal account?" or "Pay with a debit cad, or Bill Me Later" (I guess it's depending on the country you're in)

Hi David

What are the numbers up to with the Proline group buy?

I got some good and some bad news.

The bad one is, that until now only eight orders came in. 8 out of 66 that voted that they want to purchase for sure a ProLine.

The good news is, that ProLine will reduce the group limit to 40 (advertisement also costs money, so way not spent it this way).
If this number isn't reached until the 28th, the money will be reimbursed.

Well, there will be at least one more soon. Just waiting for the necessary funds to finish transferring onto my credit card account, then I will place my order at once. :-)
