  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thought you guys might be interested.

I found this new slider that is available out of australia It's not the cheapest slider out there on the market but it's the best made and very modular turning it into a bonnet car mount or underslung for tabletop work. Cost around AUD$14K and can come with different length rails in custom case.

If there was enough interest in the Slider and Reduser wanted to do a Group buy orders of 10 and above then I know the 14K+ Price tag for this quality product would come down significantly. Sorry, but for $14K I want motorized repeatable programed moves, a lifetime supply of espresso shots, and at this price point, the slider will need to be able to drive itself on to set and set itself up for the shot.

Now if that group buy can get the price point down to around $950 you may sell a couple of these.

***Flashing back to a time when the cost of doing a 2 foot linear tracking shot didn't equal the yearly wages of a McDonald's cook***
 
I have this slider and love it. I have the only one in the US, and rent it out of Hollywood. PM me if interested in renting.

The 4ft Ronford is half the price and completely bomb proof, standard kit here in the UK.
 
no i mean 48" IS 4FT it's the same....

The price he gave me was AUD12K which includes custom case & shipping worldwide.

Pete, i have no doubt it's a good bit of kit. But it's still way to expensive. For the 3ft it more than 2X more expensive than the Ronford ( 4948.00 AUD ) I have been using Ronford sliders for a long time, and used or seen them used on many different jobs, I have never seen one fail or stick or any other type of failure, the engineering is exceptional, like all their gear. I don't work for Ronford by the way. If the Griptech was a more reasonable price i would have no qualms in considering buying and even though the group buy is a decent discount, for me it's still too costly when the alternatives are bomb proof, time tested kit and less than half the price.
